Friday and the Random 10 (NFL Draft Edition)
You know, I just don't get it. I know I am a big Bama homer, but one guy drafted in the first round? And not even a defensive player? Am I the only one that actually watched football this past season? I saw team after team "reaching" for player after player, including the Ole Mess players with drug/assault problems. Hey guys, there's a reason your team was 3-13 last year and you have a new head coach every other season. #Idiots #ICanDraftBetterThanThat
I suppose there's always Round 2 today. Ugh...

Friday and the Random 10 (Viggle Edition)
I have been playing around with this app called Viggle. Some of you may know about it already. Apparently you can earn points just for watching TV that you can redeem for gift cards and such. I haven't gotten that far just yet, but I have noticed that it also has a music option that will identify what you are playing for points as well. Been using that on my drive to and from work. Figured I might as well use it here as well. Points are points right?
2) Ratt/Back for More - Oh it looks like we're rockin' this week.
5) The Beatles/Tell Me Why
5) Kansas/The Pinnacle - Completely epic. No one does music like this anymore.
Well anyway, looking back at last week I see there was a lot of activity. The Beatles got the monthly ban, and Mr. Pina Colada-burg got Tarkus'd so we won't be seeing him this week either (I have no idea how to make the tilde over the "n"). As always the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's Viggle away!
1) Van Halen/Girl Gone Bad - Yeah that's the way to start off. Classic album cover:
3) Billy Joel/The Longest Time - Well at least it was still in the 80's.
4) Camel/Drafted - Wow, Viggle identified this before I could figure it out who it was. I still love their sound.
6) Chicago/Where Do We Go From Here - Now this is some old school stuff back when they were still hippies.
7) Casting Crowns/Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me) - Wow, it's been a long time since they've shown up.
8) Styx/Kiss Your Ass Goodbye - Okay apparently Viggle doesn't work too well with live versions. Sounds crappy anyway.
9) Steve Howe/Never Stop Learning - Viggle had a hard time with this demo but it eventually matched it. Yes, this demo did end up on ABWH as Brother of Mine.
10) Jimi Hendrix/May This Be Love - Believe it or not I'm not very familiar with a lot of his stuff. Working on changing that.
Well there it is. The Fab Four tried but the Tarkus got them. Everything else was pretty cool. The STCS this week is Jimmy Buffett/Creola Err, umm, no. I'm going to ignore that and go with the next one which is Jimi Hendrix/Purple Haze. Much better, but now Jimi can't show up next week. Ugh. That's the way it goes.
As always stay cool and dry central Florida, and Roll Tide!
Play us out magnificently boys!

Friday and the Random 10 (Fab Four Edition)
Yes, yes I know I skipped last week. Unfortunately this year the 4th of July ('Murica!) landed on a Friday and for a Disney cast member that means no day off and a long shift. A very long shift. Usually 10-14 hours. Hope the rest of you choked on your barbecue...
So getting back into the swing of things I look back and see that Jimmy Buffett got banned so maybe there's a chance the Tarkus can show up. Lost? Check the rules and whatnot up top ↑ there and it will explain all.
Without further ado, let's rock this joint!
1) Kansas/Eleanor Rigby - Yeah the Beatles song. I'm not sure why they decided to remake this one. Doesn't work for me. One of my fave Beatles songs though.
2) The Beatles/Fixing a Hole - Wow, weird. From some album I can't remember.
3) Pink Floyd/Scarecrow - Here we go again. I'm just not getting it, granted this is way old school stuff from them.
4) Enigma/Feel Me Heaven - Always awesome.
5) The Beatles/Polythene Pam - Looks like a man, gets the Fab 4 banned for next week.
6) The Beatles/Ticket to Ride - Say goodbye to July now.
7) Steve Howe/Big Love - The guitar sections on this ended up on the Yes album Union (or Onion).
8) Styx/Show Me the Way - I think this is the last hit song DDY had with the band.
9) Daft Punk/Victory - From the Tron Legacy soundtrack.
10) Foreigner/Lonely Children - Great 70's rock from them. We all know what happened in the 80's. Ugh.
Well there we have it for another week. With all the Beatles showing up I was afraid I was having another media player glitch but it seemed to work itself out. They still get the monthly ban though. Dem rules is rules.
The STCS isJimmy Buffett/Coast of Marseilles
Yay! Tarkus'd! Let's try that again. The STCS is now Rush/Lessons. Oh yes! I'm even going to give them the album cover winner:

Friday and the Random 10 (Sir Psycho Sexy Edition)
Blah. Exactly. I'm not exactly feeling it this morning, but I don't want to disappoint my two or three fans. Everybody say "ugh".
Once again, no one got banned last week so anything is possible. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Ready for the meh? Here it is...
1) Foreigner/Hot Blooded - Off to a good start. Classic.
2) Pink Floyd/One of the Few - Slow and creepy, about what you would expect.
3) Kansas/No One Together - Third classic band in a row. Album cover winner:
4) The Rolling Stones/Gimme Shelter - Shout out to Tabitha on this one.
5) Starship/Good Heart - Basic 80's crap.
6) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/We'll Always Have Paris - More rocking than swinging on this one. Eh.
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Sir Psycho Sexy - I hereby nominate this as my new nickname.
8) Jimmy Buffett/Domino College - Working vacation in a third word nation. I'll be studying the World Cup?
9) America/Daisy Jane - Because, 'merica.
10) The Cars/Moving in Stereo - Another great one.
I know I didn't start this one with great enthusiasm, but there were some really great songs this time around. Not "meh" at all. Maybe if I go into it next time with low expectations... Yeah.
So once again no one gets banned and the Tarkus might be dying a slow death. We'll need to feed that thing soon. The STCS for this week is Jimmy Buffett/Margaritaville. Ha! Ask and you shall receive! No blonde strangers next week (see what I did there?) And Jimmy, there's always a woman to blame.

Friday and the Random 10 (101 Edition)
Here we go again. Nothing new to report this week, just work and rainy weather. There have been a few "101's" (Disney lingo for operational down times) which has slowed the days down a bit, but otherwise it's been a typical May in Florida. The heat and humidity suck, as does wet socks while you're trying to work. Some of ya'll know what I mean.
Last week's countdown was okay. No one got banned so everything is fair game this time around. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's get 10 songs in while we are still 102...

Friday and the Random 10 (Easter Chocolate Edition)
We another week has passed us by yada yada yada. What exactly does "yada" mean anyway? No idea. But I digress. Looking back at last week I see that no one got banned so this week should be smooth sailing. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
No whammies!

Friday and the Random 10 (Bringing Back the Goatee Edition)
Well here we are once again, staring at another Friday. It's also the last day of February which means The Moody Blues and Yes are eligible to come off the disabled list next time around. Taking a look at last week, it appears no one new was banned either.
I don't know how I'm feeling right now. Kinda meh. Oh well, let's roll out the music and see how things turn out. As usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top. Oh, and I've decided to bring my goatee back so this week's music should rock!

Friday (Night) and the Random 10
I almost forgot today was Friday! I guess I was so excited on finally having a day off tomorrow that I just focused on getting through work as soon as I could. Never fear though, I won't leave everyone hanging...

Friday and the Random 10 (I Hate Valentine's Day Edition)
I hate today. I really do. Blah blah blah. Oh you got some flowers? Makes me want to shoot myself in the fracking head. At least my worst fear wasn't realized and someone proposed to their girlfriend in front of me today. Some lame jerkwad always thinks that a great thing to do at Disney. And ladies I mean c'mon. If your man is wearing a fracking suit to the parks and you're surrounded by your family all day, you should know what's coming.
Wow, tell us how you really feel Von.

Friday and the Random 10 (Outliers edition)
Well we are back for another week of randomness and after last week's literary crapdom (The Catcher in the Rye...ugh), I'm glad to say that the next book I read was much better. So much better in fact that I read it all in one day. It was called Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and it was a fascinating read (review coming soon). So that has me in a better state of mind for whatever music comes our way today.

Friday and the Random 10
Wow, the holidays can really keep a person busy. When you work for the Mouse, you basically have no life from Thanksgiving to New Years. But now that January is upon us things start slowing down just a bit.
I hope to blog a lot more in 2014. I also have a ton of books I plan to read this year so look for reviews of that at some point. For now, how bout we just settle in with something familiar like a Random 10. As usual the rules and whatnot are over there → to the right.
Let's see how this year starts off!

Friday and the Random 10
Well another week has passed us by, but you know what that means! It's Friday! And time to be random! Don't worry, I'm not going to end every sentence with an exclamation point! Oops, I mean "." Anyway, looking back at last week, I see that Def Leppard got banned. As usual, the rules and whatnot are over there → to the right.
Here we go!
1) Across The Universe/Soundtrack (Across the Universe) - I mean it wasn't Sgt Peppers with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton (what is?), but it was a decent movie.
2) The Alan Parsons Project/Can't Take It With You - You know, in their off time from building that giant death laser on the moon.
3) The Alan Parsons Project/What Goes Up... - And we have our first banning of the day. Too bad cuz I like them.
4)Def Leppard/Hell Raiser Yes/Clear Days - The Tarkus has eliminated its target, allowing Yes to proceed. I have previously covered this song and album here.
5) ELO/Julie Don't Live Here Anymore - Did you ever buy a record and end up liking the bonus track/B-side more? This was the case with both of the singles from their album Time. And this song didn't even make the album.
6) Van Halen/You Really Got Me - Anyone else notice they did a lot of remakes of other people's stuff?
7) Jimmy Buffet/Who's The Blonde Stranger - Oh Jimmy and your comedic ways...
8) Ratt/Way Cool Jr. - Yes I am and welcome to the party pal!
9) Thomas Dolby/I Love You Goodbye - This is how I feel about a lot of things lately. Good song.
10) ABBA/Take a Chance on Me - Move along. Nothing to see here. Ignore the women in go-go boots behind the curtain.
So there we go. Alan Parsons shows up and gets banned while Def Leppard tries to sneak back in but got Tarkus'd. The STCS for this week is Yes/Soft as a Dove. Does that get them banned? I'm going to say yes to Yes for doing two wimpy songs. I love you goodbye (see what I did there?). Anyway, stay cool central Florida, and Roll Tide!

Friday and the Random 10 (From the Jaws of Disaster Edition)
So almost a moment of complete panic last night. I keep ALL of my music and a lot of movies/videos on an external hard drive. I think everyone is about to see where this is about to go. So, yep, I go to play some music last night and the hard drive is unresponsive. Like the computer doesn't even recognize it as having anything on it.

Friday and the Random 10
Well here we go again. It's been another long, fun week and what better way to head into the weekend than with some randomness. Looking back at last week I see that Styx and Yes are both banned, but since it's August now, RW has been set free. I'm sure he will return with a vengeance. As usual, the rules and whatnot are over there → to the right.
On with the show!
1) U2/Hawkmoon 269 - What is "Songs I've Never Heard Of" for $200, Alex? I just never got into these guys.
2) Pink Floyd/On The Turning Away - Yet another band I never truly embraced.
3) Camel/Squigely Fair - Now these guys I like. And album cover winner too:
5) Jimmy Buffet/Sending the Old Man Home - Is this what they say at the end of my shifts every night?
6) Rick Wakeman/The Spider Crab - RW! This must be his album about things you can find on a beach.
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/This is the Place - Yep.
8) Wendy Carlos/The Light Sailor - from the Tron (original) soundtrack. Oh, and this Wendy chick used to be a dude. No, really.
9)Yes/Heart of the Sunrise Boston/Higher Power - Now that's what I'm talking about!
10) America/Tin Man - Classic song.
Well that wasn't so bad. No one got banned (though Yes tried to sneak in there) and RW made his comeback. The STCS for this week is Trans-Siberian Orchestra/The Safest Way Into Tomorrow from their non-Christmas Night Castle CD. Overall, not bad. Until next week, stay classy central Florida.

Friday and the Random 10
Hey, guess what? It's Friday and you know what that means! We're all hung over because yesterday was payday? Nope (although partly true), it's time for the Random 10! As usual the rules are over there → to the right and looking back at last week no one got banned, though RW is still serving out his monthly suspension.
Let the music play!
1) Emerson Lake & Palmer/Paper Blood - The last ELP album that was worth a damn. This was actually their "hit" single.
2) Jimmy Buffet/Ragtop Day - Now this is closer to the mood I'm in.
3) Porcupine Tree/Blackest Eyes - I was really digging these guys for awhile. Give a listen:

4) Styx/Lorelei - Not the original but the remake from their Regeneration CD. James Young just doesn't do it for me. This is a DDY song all the way. Also, I named my youngest daughter Lorelei after this song.
5) Styx/Children of the Land - Album cover winner, even if it does get them banned next week.
6) Yes/All in All - Song that was edited out from a much longer piece That, That Is.
7) Daft Punk/Encom Part 1 - From the Tron Legacy soundtrack. These guys are cool.
8) The Nice/Don Edito el Gruva - This was Keith Emerson's band before ELP. They did a lot of instrumentals by playing classical music (mostly Germanic composers) as rock songs. This is actually one of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. Oh, and:
9) Yes/Siberian Khatru - Banned as well, but great song from Close to the Edge. I still don't know what a "khatru" is.
10) Steve Howe/Break Away From It All - One of his demos from Homebrew 4.
So Yes and Styx get banned for next week which isn't that surprising considering I have their entire catalogs of music. The STCS for this week is AC/DC/Sink the Pink. Uh huh. You read that right. They are so playing us out. Until next week, stay classy central Florida.

Friday and the Random 10
Well here we are back again for another round of randomness. As usual, the rules are over there → to the right. I see from last week, that Yes is banned again, and it's still June so ABWH is still serving out their sentence. Let's get down to it!
1) Phil Collins/This Must Be Love - Haven't heard from him in awhile.
2) Camel/Drafted - These guys sure do show up a lot. I'm surprised they haven't been banned yet.
3) Return to Forever/Return to Lo - More of that space age jazzy sleeping music.
4) Michael Jackson/2 Bad - At first I thought this was Bad, which would have given me a cool video to add, but alas no. I don't really know this song.
5) Styx/A Man Like Me - Old school Wooden Nickel Styx before Tommy Shaw. Album cover winner.
6) Rush/Face Up - They got to a point in the 80's/90's that all their music sounded the same to me.
7) The Black Eyed Peas/Labor Day - Sometimes I can bring the funk.
8) Jimmy Buffet/Manana - Makes me want to get drunk(er).
9) Camel/Running from Paradise - Ask and ye shall receive. Banned for next week.
10) Billy Joel/Shameless - Eh, ok I guess.
Not a bad mix this week I suppose. The STCS for this week is Chicago/Mah Jong, from that mysterious Stone of Sisyphus album. Neat story. Anyway, there it is and now that it's done...

The Random 10 (Saturday Edition)
So yeah I spent a full day at a theme park yesterday and didn't get the chance to randomize my music collection. Looking at last week I see that Yes is ineligible and ABWH is banned in the month of June altogether. As usual, the rules are over there → along with awards and whatnot.
Here we go...
1) Hall & Oates/You've Lost That Loving Feeling - Sucky remake. Not an awesome start.
2) Absolute Elsewhere/Toktela - Some kind of jazzy electronic music from the 70's.
3) Jon Anderson/Surrender - Even I am getting tired of his stuff.
4)Yes/If Only You Knew, Yes/Perpetual Change Jimmy Buffet/Why Don't We Get Drunk - Sounds like a plan to me.
5) The Beatles/Rocky Raccoon - Sometimes I don't even think they were trying. Or maybe they were into some really good drugs.
6) Skye Sweetnam/Tangled Up In Me - Okay this is one of those teen female singers I occasionally get hung up on.
7) Tommy Shaw/The Outsider - From Tommy's early solo days.
8) Pink Floyd/The Narrow Way (pt. 2) - Not to be confused with parts one or three. No idea here.
9) Styx/Lords of the Ring - This was from way before the movies, and is totally unrelated. Album cover winner for sure though.

Well there it is. I'm not that enthusiastic about it either. The STCS for this week is Styx/Aku Aku. Wow, same album as above. Might as well ban them next week too. Meh, whatever.

Friday and the Random 10
Checking back on last week, I can see that Jon Anderson and Chicago and ineligible this week. Sorry, dem's da rules guys. The other rules are over there → to the right. I'm feeling sore from my first day back in over five months, so I have no idea how this one will turn out. Oh well, nothing to it but to do it! Let's go!
1) GTR/Spectral Mornings - This is another one of those "supergroups" from the 80's. This one had Steve Howe of Yes/Asia and Steve Hackett from Genesis. This song is some live performance with material from a second album that was never released. Oh, and welcome to the party pal!
2) Jimmy Buffet/We are the People Our Parents Warned Us About - Sad, but true.
3) Jimmy Buffet/Come Monday - Two in a row? I hope my media player isn't messing up again. Automatically eliminated for next week.
4) Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Music Box Blues - Yes, this is technically a Christmas song. I hate this version. I think the original is sweet in all its sadness. This one is annoying.
5) Jimmy Buffet/Holiday - Okay, what the hell?
6) Kansas/All I Wanted - from one of my favorite 80's albums Power. Yeah, this one:
8) Journey/Why Can't This Night Go On Forever - Frontiers was acceptable after Escape, but Raised on Radio officially turned Journey into a love song singing bunch of pussies. Yeah, I said it.
9) Van Halen/Little Guitars - See, this is what we needed more of during the 80's.
10) Yes/Holding On - from theOnion Union album that I covered here.
Well this all didn't totally inspire a lot of confidence in the randomness of my media player. Maybe it was just one of those things? Who knows. The STCS for this week is The Black Eyed Peas/Imma Be. Don't be surprised! I can be cool like that sometimes. Might as well let them play us out:

2) Jimmy Buffet/We are the People Our Parents Warned Us About - Sad, but true.
3) Jimmy Buffet/Come Monday - Two in a row? I hope my media player isn't messing up again. Automatically eliminated for next week.
4) Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Music Box Blues - Yes, this is technically a Christmas song. I hate this version. I think the original is sweet in all its sadness. This one is annoying.
5) Jimmy Buffet/Holiday - Okay, what the hell?
