As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top. Throwing on a positive face now and hoping for some good karma.
Let's rock this joint!
1) Enigma/The Screen Behind the Mirror - Ya know, you can never go wrong with Enigma. I remember first listening to these guys back in the early 90's when I had moved down to the FL after I graduated college. Images apartments with Scott, Dana and MayKay. Good times.
2) Camel/Rose of Sharon - Oh it's going to be that kind of day is it? Smooth sounds and instrumentals. Might as well lights some candles and break out the wine.
3) The Beatles/Magical Mystery Tour - Well so much for that vibe. Way to ruin things Yoko. Didn't we have this song like two or three weeks ago?
4) Kansas/Can't Cry Anymore - This is an awesome, overlooked album. Bonus video:
5) The Alan Parson's Project/Can't Take it With You - I swear we have had this same song recently, but I looked back and found I was wrong. Either way, still a good song. Let the wine keep flowing.
6) Foreigner/I Need You - Bluesy and still fits in. I had to look this one up to even find what album it came off of. I knew it was early stuff because it wasn't a sucky love song. Yeah, the 80's claimed them as a victim as well.
7) Chicago/Rescue You - Speaking of bands killed by the 80's, hello Chicago XVI. The success of a few songs on this album (Hard to Say I'm Sorry, Love Me Tomorrow) is the cause for the love song-fest that was Chicago 17 and the beginning of the end for them. I will still give them the Album Cover Winner though:
8) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Can't Stop - I can still drink to this, but this is when the wine gets swapped out for tequila.
9) Robert Palmer/Some Guys Have All the Luck - A remake of an old song. And a bad one at that. Also:
10) Rush/Making Memories - Some good old school stuff from them. Bonus classic album cover (poster actually):
Well that was much better. No one gets banned, no one gets the Tarkus, and the music (mostly) just flowed. Good times with good friends. Making some memories indeed.
The STCS for this week is Daft Punk/The Prime of Your Life. This is the point of the evening where the inebriated people attempt to dance. Unsuccessfully.
As always, stay cool central Florida, and Roll Tide!
