Welcome to a new and improved, simplified and stripped down Random 10!
Me and my journey through life, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all wacky, funny, deep, depressing and interesting points in between. My interests are varied from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, the disappointing side of mediocre.

Friday and the Random 10 (Back from the Cruise Edition)
So, yeah, I missed a week. With the trains being shut down for refurbishment in the Magic Kingdom, most of us train peeps are using up all of our saved up vacation time. This year a group of us decided to do something together so we went on a cruise to the Bahamas. My first cruise ever (and yes I got me a magnet).
So now that I am back on (semi) dry land, we can get back to our normally scheduled program:

Friday and the Random 10 (Opening Day Edition)
Enough basketball already! I mean other than waiting for Kentucky to win it all like everyone thinks they will, and Alabama trying to find a new coach, I am all hooped out. But hold on, help is on the way! (cue The Little River Band) Baseball opening day is Sunday! Yeah, the Braves are going to suck, but at least they are playing a game outside. Then again, I am probably the only person that actually likes baseball anyway.
But before we fill out those lineup cards and sit down with some dogs and a beer, lets take a quick review of last week by following this link, or trying to figure out the artists from the cool picture below:

Friday and the Random 10 (Sweet 16 Edition)
Ever since my bracket imploded last week, I have not really paid much attention to the NCAA tournament anymore. Even the NIT lost me once Bama lost (though we did win in the first round...booya!). This weekend rolls in the Sweet 16 so the quality is a lot better. Hopefully this holds true for the Random 10 as well. But first, as a quick review of last week, you can follow this link, or try and figure out the artists from the cool picture below:

Friday and the Random 10 (BlackHeartbreakers Edition)
In my long search for a sponsor for my blog (it's been about a week) I figured maybe I would give Viggle some love since I talk about them and use the app all the time. I have been pretty diligent about using it lately and actually was able to get another t-shirt. Assuming it fits me (they had no XXXL), I will post a pic when it comes in. And the ladies all swoon...
So if you take a look back at last week I was trying to come up with an idea for Exile Island. I decided on the old Foursquare (now Swarm) idea of having a "mayor" by the number of times sent out. The current mayor is Chicago, even though they escaped last week. So from now on, everyone will see who is exiled, and for how many times. Like this:

Get it? Got it? Good. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top. And now, on to the music!
********************************************************************************
1) Jimi Hendrix/Red House - Oh this is how we're starting today. Nice.
2) Rick Wakeman/The Peregrine Falcon - I guess this is his album about birds. Or things that fly. Still, RW on the piano is magic
3) Vanessa Carlton/More Than This - I have no shame here. I like her. Also, more piano.
4) Joan Jett & The Blackhearts/You Don't Know What You Got - Kick ass.
5) Faith No More/Just a Man - This is from one of their other albums and a song I have never heard before. It doesn't suck.
6) Jimmy Buffett/Distantly in Love - Every time he shows up I get worried that Media Player is messing up again. He shows up like five times when that happens.
7) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers/American Girl - Good ole southern boy. You know, him and Joan Jett have awesome name for their backup bands. They should get together. They could do a duet and be backed up by the BlackHeartbreakers. Yeah.
8) Camel/Mother Road - I still like these guys. Don't know a thing about them other than that they're smooth.
9) Asia/Russian Dolls - This is the original Asia (minus Howe) back again . Album cover winner obviously, because Roger Dean:
10) Dennis DeYoung/Won't Go Wasted - The man can sing. I'll give him that. I think he has too much Broadway in him now to ever go back to Styx.
********************************************************************************
And there we have it. That was a pretty good mix of songs. I added several 70's and 80's compilation CD's to my inventory so I was expecting to hear some truly random (and unknown) stuff. Maybe next time.
The STCS for this week is Pink Floyd/Don't Leave Me Now. You know what that means? The Beatles are finally free! Not only that, no one got exiled. The island can be taken over and overgrown by nature again.
As always, stay cool? warm? comfy! and dry wherever you are and Roll Tide!

Friday and the Random 10 (Viggle Edition)
I have been playing around with this app called Viggle. Some of you may know about it already. Apparently you can earn points just for watching TV that you can redeem for gift cards and such. I haven't gotten that far just yet, but I have noticed that it also has a music option that will identify what you are playing for points as well. Been using that on my drive to and from work. Figured I might as well use it here as well. Points are points right?
2) Ratt/Back for More - Oh it looks like we're rockin' this week.
5) The Beatles/Tell Me Why
5) Kansas/The Pinnacle - Completely epic. No one does music like this anymore.
Well anyway, looking back at last week I see there was a lot of activity. The Beatles got the monthly ban, and Mr. Pina Colada-burg got Tarkus'd so we won't be seeing him this week either (I have no idea how to make the tilde over the "n"). As always the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's Viggle away!
1) Van Halen/Girl Gone Bad - Yeah that's the way to start off. Classic album cover:
3) Billy Joel/The Longest Time - Well at least it was still in the 80's.
4) Camel/Drafted - Wow, Viggle identified this before I could figure it out who it was. I still love their sound.
6) Chicago/Where Do We Go From Here - Now this is some old school stuff back when they were still hippies.
7) Casting Crowns/Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me) - Wow, it's been a long time since they've shown up.
8) Styx/Kiss Your Ass Goodbye - Okay apparently Viggle doesn't work too well with live versions. Sounds crappy anyway.
9) Steve Howe/Never Stop Learning - Viggle had a hard time with this demo but it eventually matched it. Yes, this demo did end up on ABWH as Brother of Mine.
10) Jimi Hendrix/May This Be Love - Believe it or not I'm not very familiar with a lot of his stuff. Working on changing that.
Well there it is. The Fab Four tried but the Tarkus got them. Everything else was pretty cool. The STCS this week is Jimmy Buffett/Creola Err, umm, no. I'm going to ignore that and go with the next one which is Jimi Hendrix/Purple Haze. Much better, but now Jimi can't show up next week. Ugh. That's the way it goes.
As always stay cool and dry central Florida, and Roll Tide!
Play us out magnificently boys!

Friday and the Random 10 (Friday the 13th Edition)
Well it looks as if the rainy season has finally hit the sunshine state. Thunderstorms daily. Back to the norm. Today also happens to be one of my favorite days, Friday the 13th. I've never considered it a bad luck day seeing that I'm not one of the Knights Templar (for those of you that know your history). I even wore 13 in high school and college.
Either way, it's time to roll out another random 10. You know what? Let's make that a random thirteen! Looking back at last week I see that AC/DC and Foreigner are banned for this week.
As usual the rules and whatnot are there ↑ at the top.
Get lucky!
1) Love Conquers All/Yes - This is a demo/Trevor Rabin song that didn't make it onto 90125.
2) A Day in the Life/Soundtrack (Sergeant Peppers) - One of my guilty pleasures. The Bee Gees singing this with Peter Frampton.
3) Vultures (In The City)/Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe - Bonus track that did not make it onto the ABWH album. How, I have no idea since this song is awesome. Give a listen:
4) Droned/Phil Collins - From his album with his face on the cover. No not that one. Or that one or that one or that one. Yeah, that one.
5) Mainstream/Kansas - The 80's were not too good to them either.
6) First Time/Styx - This is the song that actually broke the band up when they refused to release another wimpy love song.
7) Piano Concerto in E Flat/Soundtrack (Amadeus) - I've already told you of my love for Mozart.
8) It's Getting Better All The Time/The Beatles - You may have heard of this album:
9) 51st Anniversary/Jimi Hendrix - Just added this and it shows up right away. Cool.
10) Send Her My Love/Journey - Right smack dab in the middle of the 80's love song destruction.
STCS: More About You/Steve Howe - Another one of his demos that ended up rewritten for ABWH.
12) Simply Irresistible/Robert Palmer - Classic.
13) Recycle Countdown/Nektar - One day I'm going to actually listen to their music.
Well there we go for another week. No one gets banned and we didn't have an opportunity for the Tarkus to show up either. At least we added some new blood with the Hendrix. I'm still fine tuning my music y'all. Don't give up on me yet. I'm always welcome to suggestions!
