Welcome to a new and improved, simplified and stripped down Random 10!
Me and my journey through life, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all wacky, funny, deep, depressing and interesting points in between. My interests are varied from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, the disappointing side of mediocre.

Friday and the Random 10 (Back from the Cruise Edition)
So, yeah, I missed a week. With the trains being shut down for refurbishment in the Magic Kingdom, most of us train peeps are using up all of our saved up vacation time. This year a group of us decided to do something together so we went on a cruise to the Bahamas. My first cruise ever (and yes I got me a magnet).
So now that I am back on (semi) dry land, we can get back to our normally scheduled program:

Friday and the Random 10 (Night of Joy Edition)
So tonight is a special event at Disney called Night of Joy. It's a separate ticket event that has Christian music acts performing at various locations throughout the park. It's kinda cool if you're into that. I have enjoyed some of the music in the past.
Anyway, the best part about this event is that the trains do not operate! We are done and off the tracks by 6:00. This gives me and all my train peeps a chance to hang out together since we are all off so early. The party is on. Good times!
And now for the reason we are all here. Looking back at last week I see that RW is already banned for the month of September (shocker). And as usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's roll the dice!
1) Gentle Giant/Mobile - This sounds like a bad Kansas rip off band. Viggle has no idea what this song is.
2) The Beatles/Dear Prudence - Great song. I loved what they did with it in the movie "Across the Universe".
3) Yes/New State of Mind - Decent song on a flat out awful, forgettable album. Not even worth showing the album cover.
4) Dream Theater/Learning to Live - Maybe a little heavier than I like my prog. I still haven't listened to them much.
5)RW/Sir Galahad AC/DC/Rocking All the Way - Not real familiar with this album, but I'll give it the album cover winner:
6) The Beatles/Wait - Great classic song that unfortunately gets them banned for next week.
7) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/Master and Slave - Swing away daddy-o!
8) King Crimson/Exiles - Always good stuff with them. I can kinda see why Bill Bruford left Yes for them. More experimental types of music.
9) Jimmy Buffett/Cheeseburger in Paradise - Classic Jimmy. Now I'm hungry.
10) Boston/The Star Spangled Banner - Live version that was included on their greatest hits CD. I don't know why.
Well there it is. RW is banned for the month so I just ignored him. Too bad that it was actually from a great album of his. Hey, some of them had to be good right? The Beatles get banned for next week too. Misery loves company I guess. They seem to end up in exile together a lot.
The STCS is Def Leppard/Stay with Me from the album of cover songs they did. Meh.

Friday and the Random 10
Well another week has passed us by, but you know what that means! It's Friday! And time to be random! Don't worry, I'm not going to end every sentence with an exclamation point! Oops, I mean "." Anyway, looking back at last week, I see that Def Leppard got banned. As usual, the rules and whatnot are over there → to the right.
Here we go!
1) Across The Universe/Soundtrack (Across the Universe) - I mean it wasn't Sgt Peppers with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton (what is?), but it was a decent movie.
2) The Alan Parsons Project/Can't Take It With You - You know, in their off time from building that giant death laser on the moon.
3) The Alan Parsons Project/What Goes Up... - And we have our first banning of the day. Too bad cuz I like them.
4)Def Leppard/Hell Raiser Yes/Clear Days - The Tarkus has eliminated its target, allowing Yes to proceed. I have previously covered this song and album here.
5) ELO/Julie Don't Live Here Anymore - Did you ever buy a record and end up liking the bonus track/B-side more? This was the case with both of the singles from their album Time. And this song didn't even make the album.
6) Van Halen/You Really Got Me - Anyone else notice they did a lot of remakes of other people's stuff?
7) Jimmy Buffet/Who's The Blonde Stranger - Oh Jimmy and your comedic ways...
8) Ratt/Way Cool Jr. - Yes I am and welcome to the party pal!
9) Thomas Dolby/I Love You Goodbye - This is how I feel about a lot of things lately. Good song.
10) ABBA/Take a Chance on Me - Move along. Nothing to see here. Ignore the women in go-go boots behind the curtain.
So there we go. Alan Parsons shows up and gets banned while Def Leppard tries to sneak back in but got Tarkus'd. The STCS for this week is Yes/Soft as a Dove. Does that get them banned? I'm going to say yes to Yes for doing two wimpy songs. I love you goodbye (see what I did there?). Anyway, stay cool central Florida, and Roll Tide!

Friday and the Random 10
Well once again it's Friday so you know what that means! Valentine's Day is finally over? No, not that. I'm gonna hit random on my entire music collection and list the first ten songs that pop up. I mean really, you should know how it works by now. If not, get with the program! Let's see what 1/2 price chocolate day has in store for me:
1) Foreigner/Night to Remember - actually I don't remember anything from last night. I don't even remember this song
2) Alabama/I Ain't Got No Business Doin' Business Today - Not my style. As the Cybermen say: Delete! Delete!.
3) Rush/Roll The Bones - finally a good song. It's a parallax you dig? Video winner because hey, a rapping skeleton.
4) Across the Universe soundtrack/Let It Be - great song from a good movie
5) Styx/Pieces of Eight - title track and album cover winner
6) Rush/Prime Mover - back when Rush did music I could actually listen to
7) Genesis/Second Home by the Sea - back when Genesis was tha bomb!
8) Asia/The Smile Has Left Your Eyes - cant let this album cover go unnoticed either
9) Shaw-Blades/For What It's Worth - Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger were in Damn Yankees with Ted Nugent. Got that straight? Ok, well they did an album together of song that influenced them growing up with the clever title of Influences. It's a great album though.
10) AC/DC/Rock And Roll Aint Noise Pollution - no, no it's not
Well there ya go.That seems to be a good mix of 70's - 90's (with no RW again I might add!). The STCS for this week is Korn/Seen It All.

Friday and the Random 10
Another week has gone by and as I began to write this I realized that my music collection has become pretty static. There's not much I've added in quite awhile (any suggestions?), although I do delete stuff from time to time. I guess I'm just not big on newer music, mainly because I think most of it is crap. Give me substance over style. And like I've always said, if you have to mention your own name in a song OR if every one of your songs has a dance routine to it you can just count me out.
Now that I've said my little rant, let's get on to the music! (after saying all that, Karma is about to bite me in the ass I'm sure).
1) It's Only Rock 'n' Roll/The Rolling Stones - but I like it...
2) ABBA/Under Attack - ok, I figured ABBA would show up at some point...yes I like them...2 hot Swedish women? Yes, please! But I must admit I had never heard this song before. Very disco-y
3) AC/DC/Guns for Hire - these guys seem to show up every week and that's completely fine with me
4) The Beatles/Because - love the vocals in this song...gonna give you the Across the Universe movie version cuz I think it's awesome
5) YES/Shoot High Aim Low - finally we get YES showing up again! Great song from the Big Generator album (mandatory cover below). This is actually 2 songs sung at the same time, one by JonJon and the other by Trevor but it works. Great, if over-produced, album.
6) Foreigner/Counting Every Minute - don't even remember this song. I think this is right before they went wimp.
7) Camel/Survival - this is a band i don't know much about, but they've been around forever apparently (like the early 70's) and I haven't heard anything from them I haven't liked
8) Across the Universe Soundtrack/Helter Skelter - cool that I mentioned the movie earlier
9) Van Halen/1984 - the little synthesizer intro right before "Jump" starts up...awesomeness
10) Europe/In the Future to Come - 80's hair metal...meh...only downloaded this (as i'm sure everyone else does) for The Final Countdown song
