Friday and the Random 10 (Walk This Way Edition)
So last week I started messing with the format again and I think I am going to stick with it for awhile. I have also been singing Xanadu all week but that's neither here nor there. So below you will see only album covers from this week's Random 10.

Friday and the Random 10 (5 Star Edition)
Well how was that for a Super Bowl? Not bad huh? I wasn't too far off with my prediction of New England by a score of 33-30 (it was actually 28-24). Seriously though Seattle, run the damn ball.
In bigger and better news though, Bama pulled in yet another #1 recruiting class. Ho hum. It would be really nice if we got some to stay for the senior year instead of bolting for the NFL. That's what happens when you sign all those 5 star recruits. #BamaProblems
Let's see how many stars this week's Random 10 would get! But first, as a quick review of last week, you can follow this link, or check out the cool picture below:

Friday and the Random 10 (Lateral Noise Edition)
Well as we approach another weekend it is time for a little bit of randomness. The new format seems to be working so I guess it's a permanent thing now. I'm still worried about the time it takes, but as long as I can keep my Friday's off I should be okay. That's not the case today, but I'm up early enough to get it done.
As a quick review of last week, you can follow this link, or check out the cool picture below:

Friday and the Random 10 (Gigolo Edition)
Wow, in less than a week I got a surprise in the mail. As promised, bam!
8) The Beatles/Julia Tarkus'd! Now stay on that island!
10) Chicago/Back to You Ugh. Just ugh. So close. I'm just beyond words at this point.
You're welcome ladies. Me? A male model? Oh you flatter me, but I'm not on Schmidt's level yet. Yeah whatever, I'm a dork. But hey, a free shirt is a free shirt. Thanks Viggle (you know I am still looking for a sponsor...hint hint).
And now, on to more pressing matters. When we cast our eyes back to last week, we see that Exile Island is becoming quite the busy place:
Maybe poor Chicago will find its way back this time around. Need to make some sense of all this? Check out the rules and whatnot up there ↑ at the top.
Enough with all the jibber-jabber! Play me some music!
*****************************************************************************
1) Wendy Carlos/Scarlotti Harpsichord Sonata - I got this only because "she" did the original Tron soundtrack. And maybe I like harpsichords. Why the "she"? She used to be a man, baby.
2) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/Ding Dong Daddy on the D Car Line - We had this song like two weeks ago. Ugh. Makes me miss my trains though.
3) Billy Idol/Eyes Without a Face - This one is for Lori. Let's steal a car and go to Las Vegas. Ooh gigolo... Found this hard to believe, but:
4) Def Leppard/Run Riot - The one song off Hysteria that wasn't a hit.
5) Boston/My Destination - Or as they say, how to make an album in just under ten years. Album cover winner though:
6) Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (CSNY)/Our House - Wow, another new addition. I hope Neal Young will remember a southern man don't need him around anyhow.
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/By the Way - May your Fridays be funky and cool.
8) Pink Floyd/When the Tigers Broke Free - WWII must have really damaged the British psyche. It shows up a lot in their music and movies and TV shows (like Doctor Who)
9) Genesis/Turn It On Again - All I need is a TV show, that and the radio. Down on my luck again, down on my luck again...
10) Led Zeppelin/Black Dog - Hey hey mama!
*****************************************************************************
So there it is. Nektar got freed from exile (yay?), but The Beatles and Chicago are just going to have to share a snail dinner around the campfire. But no spooning later on!
The STCS for this week is Velvet Revolver/Headspace. Just realized their name has four V's in it. Cool.
As always stay cool and dry wherever you are, and Roll Tide (sigh).

Friday and the Random 10 (Stumping Viggle Edition)
You know what I love about Friday's now? I get to sleep in! I mean I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Town Square Theater being a bouncer for the Big Cheese, but it's nice to NOT have to go there, or anywhere towards Disney actually. And on top of all that, it's a three day weekend for me. Woop Woop! (do people still say that?)
1) Chicago/It Better End Soon
And now down to business. Looking back at last week I see that Exile Island has new company in Styx, while Chicago just can't seem to escape.
However, now that it's October, RW has immunity and gets sent back to the active list. Wonder how long that will last? I give it two weeks.
Lost? Check out the rules and whatnot up there ↑ at the top. Explains everything.
Here we go!
******************************************************************************
1) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/Shake Your Love Maker - They should use this song at the MiSiCi instead! So much better than a tail feather. I would spend so much time on M-04...
2) Anderson Wakeman/Morning Star - These two guys did an album together where it's just RW on piano with JA singing. I was hoping for a lot better than the way it turned out. Viggle has no clue.
3) Steve Howe/Beginnings (Themes) - From one of his 10 or 20 Homebrew albums of demos. Meh. BTW, in the last two songs we have had 3/4 of ABWH! Viggle has now clue to this one either.
4) Yes/The Clap (Studio Version) - Technically just SH and should get him banned, but it is listed as Yes so I am going to let it go. This was a bonus track from The Yes Album which was so different from the live album version. I am working on a post of my favorite instrumentals and this is on the list.
5) The Beatles/I Will - Sing it Paul.
6) Nektar/On the Run (The Trucker) - Once again, Viggle strikes out. Hell I had no clue what song this was either.
7) The Beatles/Don't Pass Me By - Meh, and it gets them sent to Exile Island.
8) Kansas/Lonely Wind - This is a little gem of a song from their very first album. Doubt anyone has heard it. Album cover winner:
9) The Police/Synchronicity II - Great song from a great album.
10) Pink Floyd/One of My Turns - From The Wall. You may have heard of it. I try but I just can't get into them.
******************************************************************************
Well there we have it. Chicago just can't seem to get the hint, though the song title was appropriately funny. Styx is free to return to the rest of the tribes, however The Beatles take their place.
Viggle had a hard time keeping up with me this week. On a side note, I have earned enough points to redeem for a MLB t-shirt! That's done and I will model it for everyone when it gets in. I know you ladies will be looking forward to that. Whatever.
The STCS for this week is Chicago/Where Were You Nektar/That's Life. If I remember right this counts in the banning process so off goes Nektar as well.

As always stay cool and dry wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Friday and the Random 10 (Warehouse of Suck Edition)
I was hit with an interesting idea this week of actually making the Random 10 a weekly video, possibly on YouTube. I am currently entertaining that idea. I mean I could see where the video could be at the top of the post with the normal write up underneath. The whole thing has some merit and it's got me thinking...a lot...
But until then, it's back to the normal format. Looking back at last week I see that Frank Zappa is banned, but no worries because I went ahead and deleted all of his stuff anyway. Just not my thing. And it's still September so all RW will be ignored as well.
1) Steve Howe/More About You - This was one of his Homebrew demos that became part of ABWH's "Quartet".
2) Chicago/Song for You - Weak love song from them right between the good years and the "warehouse of suck"© that was coming in the future. Ugh.
3) Yes/Astral Traveller - I have never really been crazy over this song. As with most older Yes, I covered this song here.
4) No Doubt/Hey You - Who me? I do like their sound.
5) Extreme/Peacemaker Die - This is probably the greatest album no one has heard. If you do not have a copy of Extreme/III Sides to Every Story get it yesterday.
6) Chicago/Elegy:When All the Laughter Dies in Sorrow - They used to care and actually had a message. Banned, but a great spoken piece off Chicago III:
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Road Trippin' - These guys do some great sounding stuff sometimes. Never heard this song before but I like it.
8) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/Ding Dong Daddy of the D-Car Line - I also can't say no to a good caboose!
9) The Mahavishnu Orchestra/Awakening - If you're going to be jazzy, this is how you bring it. Man, I can hear some Yes/Relayer in this song. No wonder JA said he was influenced by them.
10) Michael Jackson/Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - C'mon it's like the greatest selling album of all time. No shame here. Go get'm Captain EO!
The STCS this week is Lynyrd Skynyrd/Sweet Home Alabama. Gulp.
I just had a Vongasm.
Hold on...let me recover...

When all the laughter dies in sorrow
And the tears have risen to a flood
When all the wars have found a cause
In human wisdom and in blood
Do you think they'll cry in sadness
Do you think the eye will blink
Do you think they'll curse the madness
Do you even think they'll think
When all the great galactic systems
Sigh to a frozen halt in space
Do you think there will be some remnant
Of beauty of the human race
Do you think there will be a vestige
Or a sniffle or a cosmic tear
Do you think a greater thinking thing
Will give a damn that man was here

And there we go for another week. Chicago gets banned again, but at least RW didn't try to show up. I did delete some of his inventory as well. I go back and forth with him but it is just so much material. The STCS this week is Lynyrd Skynyrd/Sweet Home Alabama. Gulp.
I just had a Vongasm.

Friday and the Random 10 (Night of Joy Edition)
So tonight is a special event at Disney called Night of Joy. It's a separate ticket event that has Christian music acts performing at various locations throughout the park. It's kinda cool if you're into that. I have enjoyed some of the music in the past.
Anyway, the best part about this event is that the trains do not operate! We are done and off the tracks by 6:00. This gives me and all my train peeps a chance to hang out together since we are all off so early. The party is on. Good times!
And now for the reason we are all here. Looking back at last week I see that RW is already banned for the month of September (shocker). And as usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's roll the dice!
1) Gentle Giant/Mobile - This sounds like a bad Kansas rip off band. Viggle has no idea what this song is.
2) The Beatles/Dear Prudence - Great song. I loved what they did with it in the movie "Across the Universe".
3) Yes/New State of Mind - Decent song on a flat out awful, forgettable album. Not even worth showing the album cover.
4) Dream Theater/Learning to Live - Maybe a little heavier than I like my prog. I still haven't listened to them much.
5)RW/Sir Galahad AC/DC/Rocking All the Way - Not real familiar with this album, but I'll give it the album cover winner:
6) The Beatles/Wait - Great classic song that unfortunately gets them banned for next week.
7) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/Master and Slave - Swing away daddy-o!
8) King Crimson/Exiles - Always good stuff with them. I can kinda see why Bill Bruford left Yes for them. More experimental types of music.
9) Jimmy Buffett/Cheeseburger in Paradise - Classic Jimmy. Now I'm hungry.
10) Boston/The Star Spangled Banner - Live version that was included on their greatest hits CD. I don't know why.
Well there it is. RW is banned for the month so I just ignored him. Too bad that it was actually from a great album of his. Hey, some of them had to be good right? The Beatles get banned for next week too. Misery loves company I guess. They seem to end up in exile together a lot.
The STCS is Def Leppard/Stay with Me from the album of cover songs they did. Meh.

Friday and the Random 10 (Sir Psycho Sexy Edition)
Blah. Exactly. I'm not exactly feeling it this morning, but I don't want to disappoint my two or three fans. Everybody say "ugh".
Once again, no one got banned last week so anything is possible. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Ready for the meh? Here it is...
1) Foreigner/Hot Blooded - Off to a good start. Classic.
2) Pink Floyd/One of the Few - Slow and creepy, about what you would expect.
3) Kansas/No One Together - Third classic band in a row. Album cover winner:
4) The Rolling Stones/Gimme Shelter - Shout out to Tabitha on this one.
5) Starship/Good Heart - Basic 80's crap.
6) Cherry Poppin' Daddies/We'll Always Have Paris - More rocking than swinging on this one. Eh.
7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Sir Psycho Sexy - I hereby nominate this as my new nickname.
8) Jimmy Buffett/Domino College - Working vacation in a third word nation. I'll be studying the World Cup?
9) America/Daisy Jane - Because, 'merica.
10) The Cars/Moving in Stereo - Another great one.
I know I didn't start this one with great enthusiasm, but there were some really great songs this time around. Not "meh" at all. Maybe if I go into it next time with low expectations... Yeah.
So once again no one gets banned and the Tarkus might be dying a slow death. We'll need to feed that thing soon. The STCS for this week is Jimmy Buffett/Margaritaville. Ha! Ask and you shall receive! No blonde strangers next week (see what I did there?) And Jimmy, there's always a woman to blame.

Friday and the Random 10 (2 Days to Vacation Edition)
Not much hoopla this time around. Just your basic top 10. I'm two days from vacation so I'm basically mailing this one in.
As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top. King Crimson got the ban last week so we won't be hearing from them.
Go!

Friday and the Random 10 (24 Hours of Disney Edition)
Well today is the day a lot of us have been dreading. Ever since Disney did that thing a few years back on leap year where we stayed open for a full 24 hours they find reasons to do it again. And this time they found ways to make it
And also, this time cast members are blocked out from attending. You know all those wonderful "perks" we are supposed to have? Bet you didn't know that are main gate passes are invalid basically all summer. You know when friends and family actually visit Florida and want us to get them in the parks. Wanna see the castle? Nope. How about a tree in a park nobody wants to go to? It's a glorious life.
Anyway, So in honor of this day the Top 10 is going to be the Top 24. Usual rules are up there ↑ at the top, but the bannings do not matter this time around.
Here's a song for every hour we are open today!
