Me and my journey through life, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all wacky, funny, deep, depressing and interesting points in between. My interests are varied from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, the disappointing side of mediocre.
Well how was that for a Super Bowl? Not bad huh? I wasn't too far off with my prediction of New England by a score of 33-30 (it was actually 28-24). Seriously though Seattle, run the damn ball. In bigger and better news though, Bama pulled in yet another #1 recruiting class. Ho hum. It would be really nice if we got some to stay for the senior year instead of bolting for the NFL. That's what happens when you sign all those 5 star recruits. #BamaProblems Let's see how many stars this week's Random 10 would get! But first, as a quick review of last week, you can follow this link, or check out the cool picture below:
As always the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top next to the Home tab.
Well it's the Friday before Super Bowl! I am totally over the whole "deflate-gate" thing. At least, for a day, that talk was replaced with the whole Marshawn Lynch thing. He doesn't want to talk to the media, but he is obligated to, I get it. Don't ask him dumb questions and make him stare at you for three minutes. Oh, too late... (but awesome) As for the game, I have no idea who to pick. I do not have a dog in this fight, so let's see if the Random 10 somehow chooses a winner for us. August is finally in full bloom and I'm not sure what I am most excited about: Doctor Who in 16 days(!) or Alabama football in 23(!!). At least they won't be on at the same time so I won't be faced with a difficult dilemma like the whole Capt Jack/Tony Stark debate (still time to vote...just saying...). Anywayz, let's focus on the here and now and get down to the random 10. Last week shows us how persistent some bands can be, with The Moody Blues still trying to sneak past the Tarkus to no avail. Hopefully they can stay away for just one week and make themselves eligible again. Here's hoping. Time to spin the wheel of fate... 1) Dream Theater/Only a Matter of Time - My brother Scott has been on me for a long time to listen to these guys. I finally relented and they show up right away. You know what that gets:
2) No Doubt/Happy Now? - Gwen Stefani. Yes please. Album cover winner:
4) Dennis DeYoung/Pilate's Dream - DDY did a Broadway album with this song from Jesus Christ Superstar. I give him a lot of crap but he has an amazing voice.
5) Van Halen/Little Guitars (intro) - Eddie plays a mean acoustic guitar too.
6) Nektar/You're Alone - Thanks for pointing that out guys. Oh and Viggle has no clue what song this is.
7) The Nice/Rondo (69) - This is Keith Emerson's band before he was in Emerson Lake & Palmer. Great experimental stuff.
8) Return to Forever/Celebration Suite Pt.1 - Here's more of that late 60's/early 70's jazz fusion rock stuff.
9) Bronz/Harder Than Diamond - Viggle has no idea from this one hit wonder. Once again, this wasn't the hit. You know what, time to bring the Cybermen Award back:
10) Jon Anderson/Hurry Home (Song for the Pleiades) - This was JonJon's solo album (with members of Toto) that he did right before the ABWH album. I see some elements here that he used later.
And there we have it. I'm thinking of making a "Viggle rule" that if it cannot be identified then it gets deleted. I'm not sure about that though. I'll have to think on that some more.
The STCS song for this week is Trans-Siberian Orchestra/The Safest Way into Tomorrow. Let us rejoice for The Moody Blues have finally been set free! Also, no one got banned this week either. Awesome.
As always stay cool and dry central Florida, and Roll Tide!
So another week has come and gone and it's basically the same routine here everyday: work with a possibility of getting rained on. Such is the Disney life. Glamorous I know.
Well as constant as a 1:15 central Florida thunderstorm is Friday's Random 10. Looking back at last week I see that no one got the ban so it's all fair game this week. As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top.
Let's bring the thunder! 1) The Beatles/Revolution 1 - Makes me want to buy some Nike's. Some of y'all remember. 2) Jackson Browne/Before the Deluge - How appropriate. 3) Toto/I Will Remember - And somehow I don't remember this song at all. 4) Pink Floyd/In The Flesh - Some PF I can tolerate. Classic album cover winner:
5) The Moody Blues/Talking Out of Turn - One of my favorite "personal" songs that have deep meaning to me. I love everything about this song. 6) Asia/Heroine - This was my "divorce" album, however this was one of my least favorite songs from Phoenix. 7) Return to Forever/Song Long Mickey Mouse - Ummm, what? Instrumental jazzy piece with no lyrics. Dang I was real curious. 8) Bronz/The Cold Truth - One hit wonders. This wasn't it. 9) Rachmaninoff/Piano Concerto #1 - Now all I need is a fire and glass of wine. Well, and a lady. That would help. 10) Aerosmith/Come Together - From that Sgt. Pepper's movie again. Yeah it had Aerosmith. Yeah it's awesome like that. Well there we go for another week. I'm sure I got a lot of Disney peeps to read this because of the title. No I'm not going anywhere (for now). No one gets banned for next week which is always cool. That Tarkus hasn't been around in awhile. The STCS is Saga/The Flyer. Canada represents!
As always, stay cool and dry central Florida, and Roll Tide!
