Friday and the Random 10 (I Hate Valentine's Day Edition)

I hate today. I really do. Blah blah blah. Oh you got some flowers? Makes me want to shoot myself in the fracking head. At least my worst fear wasn't realized and someone proposed to their girlfriend in front of me today. Some lame jerkwad always thinks that a great thing to do at Disney. And ladies I mean c'mon. If your man is wearing a fracking suit to the parks and you're surrounded by your family all day, you should know what's coming.

Wow, tell us how you really feel Von.

But I digress. How about some music? As usual the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ on the top. Looking back at last week, I see that no one got banned, but The Moody Blues are still serving out their sentence for the rest of the month.

Oh I just hope this is filled with love songs!

1) King Crimson/Thela Hun Ginjeet - Yeah I don't know if this is a real language or not. And then a guy just starts talking about riding in a subway and encountering a guy with a gun. Weird. Album cover winner.

2) Yes/Miracle of Life - From Onion Union. I'll have a lot more to say about this travesty later. I was going to make it the album cover winner, but I realized it had been retired.

3) Yes/Have We Really Got to Go Through This? - I've covered this song and album here. Oh yeah, and banned.

4) The Beatles/Because - Great song and my favorite scene from Across the Universe.

5) Daft Punk/Aerodynamic - My only saving grace of coolness.

6) Jimmy Buffett/The Captain and the Kid - Every now and then he does something real sentimental.

7) Joan Jett & the Blackhearts/Androgynous - Funny song but this chick kicks some ass.

8) Vanessa Carlton/More Than This - Err umm. Move along. Nothing to see here.

9) ABWH/Let's Pretend - The final song from the album of the best summer of my life. I'm going to dive into this album very soon and explain how each song affected me. I just hope my words can explain how I felt (still feel?).

10) Enigma/Downtown Silence - Simply awesome as always.

Well there we go and not a love song in sight. Well except for maybe #9, but I will never, ever have anything bad to say about that album. Yes gets banned for the rest of the month because they are also the STCS for this week as Yes/Last Train started playing as I was typing this. What a dretch of a song. Ugh.

Until next week, stay warm central Florida and Roll Tide!

Play us out people singing the Beatles' song.

  1. I'll play.
    1) ELO/Don't Walk Away- From Xanadu...good start
    2)Pain Of Salvation/Martius-Nauticus II...
3)Nightwish/Eva...Love, love ,love Dark Passion Play. I can't recommend their last 2 albums enough.
4)Iron Maiden/ Prodigal Son...Meh still can't get into them. Probably need to get rid of em
5)The Birthday Massacre/ Horror Show...Yes! another great band.
6)Evanescense/ Call Me When you're Sober...meh. So many other better female fronted HR/Metal bands out there.
7)Sanctuary/ The Third War... Great metal band. Went from Sanctuary to Nevermore now back to Sanctuary...???
8)Opeth/ Porcelain Heart... I'm on the fence with them. Great music, but the singer breaks out wit cookie monster vocals from time to time.
9)Yngwie Malmsteen/Dragonfly.. Haven't listened to anything other than his first 3 albums. 1st concert I went to.
    10)Led Zeppelin/Thank You..Good Stuff
Good 10 this week nothing too cringe worthy.
