As usual the rules are over there to the right → and looking back to last week I see that Korn is ineligible. I should also point out that I am extremely sick right now, but I am still going to power through this thing because my fans deserve it. Both of them.
Away we go!
1) Chicago/Where Do We Go From Here? - Peter Cetera and the early days of Chicago were the best. Classic album cover too.
2) Camel/First Light - The more I hear from these guys the more I like them. It's mostly jazzy instrumental stuff but it's very smooth.
3) The Alan Parsons Project/What Goes Up - Other than building a giant laser on the moon to destroy the Earth, these guys play some pretty good music.
4) Yes/In The Presence Of - Another one of those live versions I need to get rid of.
5) Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe/Jon Anderson solo (Time and a Word/Owner of a Lonely Heart/Teakbois) - This was actually a cool beginning to their concerts. Jon would actually enter from the back of the audience and walk toward the stage shaking hands as he sang. Here is footage of the whole concert, but you can watch the beginning to see what I mean.
6) Billy Joel/Allentown - Mr. William Joel did a lot of poor city, factories, and dying industry songs back in the 80's.
7) Inner City/Good Life - Never heard this before. It's from one of those 80's compilation albums I added. Either way...
8) Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe/Order of the Universe - Yet another live version to get rid of. Plus, they are now banned for next week (in all forms).
9) Styx/Show Me The Way - Remember when Styx were relevant again for a brief period in the 90's? There was a mash up of this song and broadcasts from the Gulf War. Did they capitalize on their revival? No, DDY became a dick (again) the band pretty much left him behind.
10) Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe/Brother of Mine - I don't know why it keeps jumping back to this live album. Just doesn't seem very random to me. If twice in one countdown gets you banned for a week, what should three times be? I'm thinking maybe a month? Since it's the last day of the month I am going to rule them out for June completely.
Well there we have it and it's kind of leaving a bad taste in my mouth about how it went down. The randomness just feels awful sometimes. We maybe the STCS can save us: Yes/White Car. You know, I am even going to count this and ban Yes for next week as well. Trust me, I do have more music that this! Maybe I clicked on something wrong because I'm sick. Oh well, play us out Camel!
