Survivor Season 37: David Vs. Goliath Week 12 Recap

For Survivor's 37th season, 20 brand-new castaways (7 remaining) will be sorted into two groups: The Davids, who have scratched and clawed their way through life to prove themselves, overcome adversity, and earned everything they've got. And then there's the Goliaths, who come from a place of privilege and have capitalized on their advantage to crush the competition. But every Goliath has an Achilles heel, and every David has a secret weapon.

Kalokalo

After tribal and back at camp, Nick concocted a scheme with a "fake" idol and his paper from his original idol. He originally planned for someone else to find it, but since they were sitting on the raft where he hid it, he nonchalantly accidentally dug it up playing in the sand. Then he acted all surprised in front of his audience.

Davie wasn't there, but when he heard about it he didn't really believe it went down like that. He continued to look for an idol and found a clue to one with an advantage. When he went and found the idol from the clue, he had to make a choice. Either keep the idol which was good only at the next tribal, or open pots and extend its usefulness. Guess wrong and he loses his vote. He chose not to risk it (because God blew the wind away from the pots).

Reward Challenge (Spa w/food)

The challenge here was to untie a rope they are attached to and hope they give themselves enough slack to do an over/under obstacle and then throw bags at a stack of blocks.

Davie and Nick went straight through this to the bags. Kara and Angelina got to the bags but had to go back because they didn't have enough slack to retrieve their bags after throwing them. No one else was even close.

Davie was only able to retrieve two of his bags after tossing them, but made it count as be barely beat out Nick knocking off the blocks. Davie chose to take Nick and Kara with him to the spa.

The losers got to eat a big pot of Angelina's "revenge rice". She tried to use her rice sacrifice as a reason to be taken to the spa. That was a nope.

Individual Immunity Challenge

Everyone had to stand on a small perch and hold a disk balancing a ball on top. Fall off the perch or drop a ball and you're out.

Everyone made it past the first round, but once they had to add a second ball people started dropping. Like Kara, then Angelina, then Davie, Christian and Nick. Adding a third ball took out Allison allowing Mike to barely win.

Tribal Council

After the spa trip in which Davie had told Kara they should target Nick because he has two idols, she then told Allison to recruit her against Nick because Nick said he wanted Allison to go next.

Mike found himself in a safe position to make moves so he brought up the Christian threat again, but didn't seem to get far with anyone. He also told Davie that Nick was targeting him.

Nick told Davie that his second idol was fake so now Davie thinks he can trust him and changes tactics to go after Allison as well.

After the vote, Davie really had no choice but to use his idol. Nick got up and used his fake idol just to see everyone's expressions. He then said it was fake and decided to use the real one anyway (bad move because he could have just played the real one straight up and everyone would still think he had another). Didn't matter because he didn't even get a vote. Davie got two that didn't count. Allison got two...and the other three went to Christian who got sent home (but at least he gets to sit by Gabby on the jury).

So that leaves us with (total votes received in parentheses):

Davie (3), Kara, Allison (7), Mike, Angelina (6), and Nick

*Has a Hidden Immunity Idol. 
Davie found one in Week 2, and used it in Week 8 on Christian. He also found one this week that had to be used at this week's tribal.
Dan found one in Week 1 and Week 5, and used one of them on Angelina in Week 8, and the second one in Week 9. It was nullified by Carl.
Christian found his in Week 9 and used it in Week 11.
Nick found his in Week 10 and played it this week.

**Has an Advantage
Carl got an "Idol Nullifier" on Exile Island in Week 4 and played it on Dan's idol in an epic Week 9.
Nick found the "Steal a Vote" in Week 8, and used it on Allison in Week 9.
