Survivor Blood Vs Water Week 7 Recap

After what happened last week, Keith gets back to camp and is irritated that he got votes out of the blue. Missy tried to explain it to him, but he wasn't listening. Now he has it in for Missy/Baylor...

And that's just the beginning of this week's drama on Survivor: Blood Vs Water San Juan Del Sur.

The Merge

That title pretty much sums it up. It was time for the merge. So each tribe gets tree mail which directs them to a location where a giant feast is laid out for them. They pig out. Once they were done, they collected all the leftover food (this becomes extremely important later) along with their supplies and headed to their new camp.

The Numbers Game

Jeremy immediate goes into alliance mode and starts making calculations that would make a math major like me proud. He figured he has the singles (Julie and Natalie) plus Baylor/Missy from before. He targets Jon/Jaclyn and they talk it over and decide to take out Josh and break up their couple. He thinks he has a seven vote majority now.

On the other side, Josh can see that Jeremy is playing the game hard and figured he is in jeopardy now. He thinks that he and Reed have an alliance with Keith/Wes plus Alec. He tries to hit up Baylor but gets a cold shoulder and a lot of "non-answers" which makes him wary. He figures his only other option is to also hit up Jon/Jaclyn to try and persuade them into thinking couples versus singles. It appears to work and they agree to vote out Jeremy. Now this side also thinks they have the seven majority votes.

Immunity Challenge

But before we see how all that unfolds, it is time for the very first individual Immunity Challenge. There was a round plate supported on two sides by ropes. Each person had to balance a ball on the plate without letting it fall off.

Round One: Jeremy is first out (whut?), followed by Missy and Julie.

Round Two: Holding the ropes from further away takes out Reed first, then Baylor, Alec, Jaclyn and Natalie.

Round Three: An extra ball is added which quickly takes out Josh (he couldn't handle two balls? Make your own jokes there). Next goes Jon leaving Wes against his dad, Keith. They both struggled but Keith held on just a little longer to win immunity.

Trail Mix Scandal

Remember how they brought all that food back with them from the feast? Well now they get back to camp and start searching for whatever food is left. Apparently everyone had gorged themselves on their supplies already, but Julie saved some of the trail mix for herself in her bag. No big deal to me. Actually kind of smart for her.

Now the problem is, Julie had left camp to go sunbathe yet again while everyone started rummaged through bags to find stuff. They went ape-shit when they found all the trail mix in her bag and started shoving most of it into their mouths. When she came back into camp there was so much tension and she was just speechless when she noticed they had gone through her bag.

Speaking of bags, that's a good way to describe it. Everyone at camp was basically a douche bag to her. And what happened next was totally their fault.

No Tribal

Julie had been having a hard time anyway. She about lost it the night with the rain and had to have a discussion with the only person she thought she could trust, Missy. She played mommy with Julie and told her to hang on because people were counting on her vote in the alliances. It seems some people should have kept their mouths shut and their hands out of her bag.

Julie quit y'all.

After a heart to heart with Probst, Jeff heads to camp to tell them the news. Remember that whole numbers game and alliances? Out the window. There were quite a few people that were counting on her vote that had an "oh shit" look on their face (ahem, Jeremy).

He also notifies them that there would be no tribal. Josh and Jeremy survive for another day. One of them was going home for sure. I guess Keith's immunity goes wasted as well.

My predictions did not account for someone quitting, although several of my scenarios had Julie being voted out anyway. I did nail the couples going after Jeremy thing though.

So now that leaves us with:

Couples: Jon/Jaclyn, Josh/Reed, Wes/Keith, and Missy/Baylor.

Singles: Alec, Jeremy, and Natalie.

Voted out (in order): Nadiya, Val, Rocker, Drew, Kelley, Dale, Julie (quit).
