Friday and the Random 10 (Richmond's Still Alive Edition)

Oh look. Richmond's Von's still alive. Yes, yes I know it has been awhile. Work has been work and the weeks have flown by. And now summer is almost over and it's creeping up on October. Have I mentioned the Halloween parties have started? Like weeks ago? I need to buckle down and get back to being creative. Back to your room Richmond! It's music time!

Let's just start brand new with Exile Island to make things easier. Nothing to see here. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

********************************************************************************

Start me up!

1) Journey/In the Morning Day (Journey) - Some very early stuff from them. Like very first album early before SP. That's Greg Rollie singing with some great guitar work by Neal Schon starting around 1:53.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) The Commodores/Oh No (The Very Best of the Commodores) - The pride of Tuskegee, Alabama. You know, Lionel's other job when he's not singing about Peyton. Peyton on Sunday morning.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Prince/I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man (Ultimate, Disc 1) - OMG it has a video on YouTube? I am going to leave it here and slowly walk away...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Royal Philharmonic Orchestra/Hooked on Romance (Hooked on Classics) - I am glad this is on here. There was a "craze" in the 80's for classical music because of this and Amadeus.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) Camel/Epitaph (Music Inspired by The Snow Goose) - Nice little mellow (as always) clip from them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Dennis DeYoung/With Every Heartbeat (The Music of Styx Live) - From his Hunchback of Notre Dame musical. Not him singing though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Bow Wow Wow/I Want Candy (Gold: New Wave Disc 2) - Wow, was this ever overplayed on the early days of MTV. And that video is NOT on YouTube. Utterly shocked.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) Def Leppard/Tonight (Acoustic) (Adrenalize Deluxe Edition) - Acoustic. Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Styx/What Has Come Between Us (Styx I) - You have to be a real Styx fan to know this tune. I have told you of my love before for the Styx albums on Wooden Nickle Records. This is their debut album and basically the first song by Dennis DeYoung. Really, give it a listen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) Velvet Revolver/For a Brother (Libertad) - Rock on!

********************************************************************************

The STCS for this week goes to REO Speedwagon/Like You Do (R.E.O./T.W.O.). Some very old school REO here, but still good stuff. No one (thankfully) gets sent to Exile Island this week so we will have a clean slate next week as well. And yes, there will be a next week! I feel so bad for disappointing my two or three fans (hi mom).

********************************************************************************

Stay cool/dry/comfy wherever you are, avoid pumpkin spice flavored anything, and Roll Tide!

Play us out REO!
