Friday and the Random 10 (Post Plague Edition)

Oh man, yeah I know I missed last week but I had a good reason: the plague. Yeah I have been kinda sickly which caused me to miss several days of work. Luckily, I had the sick pay on file to take care of it. Now that I am 85% back to "normal" I can try to get things back on track. How about some music?

The last countdown cleared everyone out of Exile Island, but guess who got added right back? There are no words. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Play On!

1) Jon Anderson/Flowers of the Morning (The Promise Ring) - We get to start off with some JonJon. This album was like Lord of the Rings and the Shire meets Riverdance.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Rush/Different Strings (Permanent Waves) - One of the many great songs off this album. This one is very personal song as opposed to most of their other prog/scifi stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) The Beatles/I've Just Seen a Face (Help!) - Been awhile since we have heard from these guys, which means they will probably end up getting banned. I was never really familiar with this song until I saw it in Across the Universe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Guns N' Roses/Catcher in the Rye (Greatest Hits, Disk 2) - I am not familiar with this song at all, I just know the book sucked. And now I know why. It was originally from that Chinese Democracy album. Whatev.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hell to the naw RW!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) Kansas/Back Door (Audio-Visions) - Fantastic album. I loved this time period for the band.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Gong/Master Builder (You) - I am surprised this one has made the countdown before (and that there's an actual video). This tune is like a space age jungle jam. With saxophone. Yeah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Return to Forever/Interplay (No Mystery) - And here's another one of those jazzy experimental 60's/70's bands.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) Enigma/The Child in Us (Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi) - Middle eastern and spiritual. Always awesome.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Jimmy Buffett/If the Phone Doesn't Ring, It's Me (Boats Beaches Bars and Ballads) - And now for a total mood changer. Oh well, I can relax with a beer for a bit...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) Boston/Someone (Corporate America) - This album had some stuff that actually sounded like Boston (this one for example), but the rest? Spew.

The STCS for this week goes to Survivor/It's the Singer Not the Song (Vital Signs). Man, what a great 80's album that was. After "Eye of the Tiger" this was all their other hits were on this. Except this song. Not a hit, but great. As far as Exile Island, RW got Tarkus'd and sent right back. It's gotten so bad with him that I actually deleted the song that tried to pop up. Nuff is enuff.

Stay warm/dry/comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out guys:
