Friday and the Random 10 (Tarkus Free Edition)

After last week, I am not really sure how this edition will go. Exile Island seems to be filling up, even though I have been deleting a lot of technically unnecessary crap from my music inventory. I have also been adding more "solid" stuff for a more rounded experience. I hope the effects start to show soon.

Speaking of that Exile Island, it currently looks like this:

Hopefully we can have a Tarkus free edition this week and clear up some of the mess. No idea what is going on here? Check out the rules and whatnot up there ↑ at the top.

Here we go!

1) The Moody Blues/The Actor - Their music still sounds like the "soundtrack to a dream". I think I have used that phrase before so ©.

2) The Black Eyes Peas/Missing You - Don't look stunned. I can get funky sometimes.

3) Porcupine Tree/Lips of Ashes - This is another one of those metal progressive bands.

4) John Mellencamp/Again Tonight - I'm sorry, but his name just doesn't look right without the "Cougar" part. And, by the way:

5) Haken/Sun - Pretty much same as #3 above. I might actually like it all if I gave it some time.

6) Emerson, Lake & Palmer/Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression - Complete classic here all the way around. Album cover winner:

7) The Beatles/Got To Get You Into My Life - I kind of like the Earth Wind & Fire version better.

8) No Doubt/Spiderwebs - I still like their sound. That lead singer might go somewhere one day.

9) Jim Croce/I Got a Name - This is one of those rare songs that actually moves me to tears sometimes. We lose some of the most talented singers way too early.

Like the fool I am and I'll always be
I've got a dream, I've got a dream
They can change their minds but they can't change me
I've got a dream, I've got a dream
Well, I know I can share it if you want me to
If you're going my way, I'll go with you

10) John Cougar Mellencamp/Rain on the Scarecrow - Yeah I just added him to my music and yes he gets banned first time out. I always liked this song though. He always sang about middle America.

Well that actually wasn't too painful. JMC gets banned for next week, but I don't really care because it shows the new stuff is starting to come through. That's a good thing. I guess a lot of that depends on the STCS which is: Duran Duran/I Don't Want Your Love. Cool, that's another new one too.

It also means that Yes, REO and Chicago all get off the island. RW has another week to serve before getting paroled.

As usual, stay cozy and comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Sing us out Jim:
