Survivor Blood Vs Water Week 8 Recap

So, Julie quitting last week certainly sent some ripples through some alliances. The numbers game that Jeremy thought he could count on now looks real shaky since it is down by one. The main questions is: would everyone stay the course, or would alliances change?

Reward Challenge

The main way to sort all this out is what happened after the reward challenge.

The objective was to pile giant pieces onto a sled, push them to the opposite end and assemble them into a temple. Once that was done someone had to climb to the top and detach a rope which was then used by the whole team to hoist a statue head up the side of a structure. Once at the top it would set off the flag for the winner.

Team 1: Keith, Wes, Jeremy, Reed, and Natalie

Team 2: Jon, Jaclyn, Alec, Baylor, and Josh.

Missy sat out and would not be eligible for the taco bar. Team 1 worked well together (must have been a firefighters thing) and quickly beat Team 2. They then picked Jon to go to Exile Island.

Now this is where things went a little south.

Team 1: Gorged themselves on tacos and other Mexican food (especially Wes who made himself sick), but, as Keith pointed out, no one actually talked any strategy. He said if there was a tribal council even after Julie had quit, he had no idea what would have happened. Jeremy thought that was a pile of shit. He knew they were after him.

Team 2: As earlier, Josh went after Baylor and was promptly turned down again. She never forgave him for voting for her at the very first tribal.

The interesting things are what happened when everybody got back to camp. Men are pigs and it was on full display with Wes, Keith and especially Alec who went into douche bag mode. The women didn't like it at all, and Jaclyn even more so. She realized no one paid her any attention with Jon gone and she was ready to break some alliances and ditch the guys.

Exile Island

It's real easy to find the immunity idol when you're the only one there. Jon got the clue to one that was actually located at the exile camp. He found it.

Immunity Challenge

The challenge this time was a mental one. It was the deal where Probst would show them all a sequence of images and they would have to repeat them one at a time using a cube with a pic of the image on each side. You know the deal.

The first round knocked out Jon, Reed, Wes and then Alec.

The second (and actually final) round knocked out Natalie, Baylor, Jaclyn, Keith, and Missy in order. That left Josh and Jeremy. Yep, the two who were fighting not to be voted out. Josh blows it, and Jeremy wins immunity. My boy keeps finding a way to stay alive.

Tribal Council

So things are really blowing up now with Jeremy not being an option. The consensus quickly went over to vote out #TeamBaylor. Well, that is if Jon and Jaclyn voted that way. They were once again hit with campaigns from each side for their support. I really had no idea how it was going to play out since the whole Jaclyn snub.

After ten votes it was dead even with Josh and Baylor having five votes each. The last vote went to... Josh. I was stunned.

So now that breaks up another couple and leaves us with:

Couples: Jon*/Jaclyn, Wes/Keith*, and Missy/Baylor.

Singles: Alec, Jeremy, Reed, and Natalie.

* Has an immunity idol.

Voted out (in order): Nadiya, Val, Rocker, Drew, Kelley, Dale, Julie (quit), and Josh.
