Survivor Season 38 Edge of Extinction Week 4 Recap

For Survivor's 37th season, 18 castaways (15 remaining) will be sorted into two groups as usual. However, this season introduces a new twist, wherein contestants who are voted off have an option to take a boat to an area known as the "Extinction Island", rather than leave the game permanently. Contestants then may either wait for an opportunity to re-join the main game, or may choose to leave the game at any point. The remaining contestants will initially be unaware of this twist. There are currently three people on the island.

EXTINCTION ISLAND

So when Chris rolls into the island Reem had no pity whatsoever for him. It was almost like Chris, meet kharma. I mean I'm sure he was still stunned from the blindside but damn she's not making amends at all. Especially when he may be the one that helps them get back in the game.

Keith, on the other hand, just looks lost and needs to raise the sail and go home. Just do it already.

Drop Your Buffs!

No reward this week, but when Manu came out and Kama saw that Chris was gone they were stunned. And that show you how much a stupid move it was when the other tribe is shocked.

However, it was also time to drop the buff and choose for new tribes.

KAMA

The tribe continues to be Julie, Joe, Julia, Aurora, and Ron. They lose Victoria, Eric, Gavin, and Aubry.

As soon as they are back at camp Joe talks to Ron at the well, who just keeps him talking there for a reason. Earlier he told Julie to search his bag for idols while he detains him for a bit. Ron is playing nice but knows Joe is a threat and doesn't want him to have extra ammo.

MANU

This tribe keeps Victoria, Eric, Gavin, and Aubry together with a different name. They add Wendy (and possibly lose their chickens).

Of course, Wendy can't shut up and Aubry just sits there soaking up all the intel from the rest of the group. However, she still has the "chicken madness" and would cringe every time someone mentioned eating them. She got up in the middle of the night and released them to the wild. Now the rest of the tribe knows it was her, but are keeping it real low, especially since they hear the chickens around camp and may be able to recapture one or two.

LESU

This new tribe picks up David, Wentworth, Wardog, Rick and Lauren (basically the old Manu minus Wendy).

These guys are tight, but Lauren may be cracking a little bit. She has eaten very little for days and constantly feels nauseous.

Immunity Challenge

The first part involved climbing over two large "A" frames, but it was damn near impossible with all the rain. It took several attempts for even one person to make it to the top, but when they did they had to pull everyone else up or use the rope they were carrying. Some even had to resort to human ladders. Manu made it over both of them first, followed by Lesu, and the Kama.

However Kama was the first to get their crate full of puzzle pieces pulled to the end, with Manu and Lesu right behind. Then, as always, it was a race to solve the puzzle.

Kama got it first, with the other two furiously trying to reconstruct what they had. Manu was able to get it done first, sending Lesu to tribal.

Tribal Council

So here we are again with the same group at tribal, but no Wendy to vote out. Now is when people just look for reasons. David/Rick were thinking Lauren with how her health has been. Wentworth/Lauren were thinking Rick. Wentworth/Wardog though maybe Lauren or Rick. Lauren/Wardog thought Rick too. Wardog would be the swing vote it appeared.

Lauren got two votes, Rick the other three to be sent down the path to make a choice. He chose the island as well.

So that leaves us with (total votes received in parentheses):

Lesu: Wardog, Lauren* (3), Wentworth (4) and David

Manu: Victoria, Eric, Gavin, Aubry*, and Wendy (4), 

Kama: Julia, Aurora, Julie, Joe, Ron**

Lauren found hers in Week 2.
Aubry found hers Week 3.

Ron found his on the boat in Week 1. It had to be played by Week 3 so it's no longer any good.
