Survivor Season 38 Edge of Extinction Week 2 Recap

For Survivor's 37th season, 18 castaways (17 remaining) will be sorted into two groups as usual. However, this season introduces a new twist, wherein contestants who are voted off have an option to take a boat to an area known as the "Extinction Island", rather than leave the game permanently. Contestants then may either wait for an opportunity to re-join the main game, or may choose to leave the game at any point. The remaining contestants will initially be unaware of this twist. There is currently one person on the island.

Manu

The tribe is: Dan, Rick, Wendy, Lauren, Keith, Chris, w/returning players Wentworth and David.

Wendy didn't vote with Wentworth because she doesn't want to work with her. She feels she's already had her chance (and she's kinda right). Everybody else figured Wendy would be idol hunting hard now so they just decided to do an open group idol hunt. Lauren found the idol, but didn't tell anyone (thank goodness).

Kama

This tribe is : Victoria, Ron, Julia, Eric, Aurora, Julie, Gavin, w/returning players Joe and Aubry.

Well, they can dance at least.The topic of "2nd time players" keeps popping up here as well, mostly focused on Aubry. Victoria (redhead cutie) got some screen time here agreeing. Gavin/Eric were out actively idol hunting which made Julie talk to the other women about why it's always the men that hunt.

Immunity Challenge

It involved water, so Keith was screwed. Manu was also screwed because he held them back.

The first part was to swim out to a bamboo cage which had a snake in it. You had to untie the snake, get it out of the cage and carry it to a cradle on the beach. Well Kama got way ahead because Manu had to make sure Keith didn't drown.

Kama got the snake in place, got the numbered discs out of it, and opened their combination lock to release the rings. All they had left was to throw them on the pegs to lift the flags to spell "immunity". Kama caught up and even got within one ring of Manu before they pulled away and won immunity.

Kama goes to tribal again.

Tribal Council

Now the main thing here is that they had one plan before the challenge (Wentworth blindside), and another plan because of Keith's drag on the tribe during the challenge. Luckily for her, the whole Wendy thing got forgotten about. It was basically get rid of the weak link, or blindside Wentworth while they can before it's too late.

Wendy still got one vote, Wentworth got another vote, and Keith got the rest to be sent home....or not....or home....or not....or....

So that leaves us with (total votes received in parentheses):

EXTINCTION ISLAND

Reem was still there, questioning every move she made to get herself voted out. She can raise the sail on the end of the beach if she decided to quit.

Keith, on the other hand...

When he was voted out and came to that decision point on the path, he just stood there going "oh God, oh God, oh Jesus" repeatedly while NOT MAKING A DECISION.

...and the episode ended on that cliffhanger.
