Now, first of all, let me say that I am in no way an expert in any kind of way about this show. Actually I am only three seasons in and I know only nine of the current participants. This blog post is my way of helping me keep all things sorted out. So take it easy on me if I make mistakes.
So the twenty players were divided up according to the boats they were on heading towards Probst. After a little introduction, Jeff got right down to business. There were two ships in front of the players. The closest one had all kinds of supplies on it that would make life easier, but the furthest boat had the large bag of rice. First one there gets it and the other has to do without.
It was a mad scramble aboard the first ship to grab what they could, but the real question was for how long they would stock up before heading for the rice. It was about dead even when they all climbed on their rafts and headed out. Kelly W, Woo, and Joe all dove in the water and tried to swim it. My boy Woo© was the first to climb aboard and claim the rice for his tribe.

The Ta Keo tribe consists of Woo, Spencer, Kelly W, Terry, Vytas, Abi-Maria, Shirin, Jeff, Peih-Gee, and Kelley. I know four of these guys (Woo, Spencer, Shirin, and Kelley), the rest I'll have to learn about. So far Abi-Maria strikes me as being a nutjob, and Vytas can creepily put on some awkward displays of yoga/stretching. Shirin dug it though.
This camp seems to be divided along the old school (the shelter people) and the new school (the beach people). The players from the newer seasons went right into strategizing and alliance building, while the "veterans" were more concerned about the actual survival aspect of the show and focused on building the shelter first.
Kelley went out "collecting firewood" while secretly looking for an immunity idol. And lo and behold she found one. Well, not actually an idol, but a clue to where one would be hidden at the upcoming immunity challenge. Intriguing!
On the Bayon tribe is Jeremy, Kass, Keith, Tasha, Joe, Ciera, Andrew, Stephen, Kimmi, and Monica. I am familiar with the first five guys on that list. I am definitely going to have to learn about the others quickly.
The only interesting thing that really happened with this group was the yoga (or #Joega) outbreak on the beach. Keith, being his usually funny self, said no one wants to see his body all contorted on the beach anyway.

Immunity Challenge
The challenge this week was to keep a torch lit while the whole group pushed a fire pot on a raft together, lighting torches along the way. Once out of the water, they had to tie sticks together to make a long pole and use it to lift a key off a hook and open a lock to the last gate and light the final fire.
Bayon struggled in the water with Keith holding the torch, but made up a lot of ground as Joe's pole was long enough and kept high enough to retrieve the key (surely I wasn't the only one snickering at Probst's comments, right?).
Now in the middle of all this "pole building" was Kelley at the back of the group looking back to where the clue said the idol was. She kept looking back wondering if she could grab it real quick with no one noticing. After several glances (and with everyone focused on Joe's pole) she reached back under the tripod and snagged it.
In the aftermath, Bayon actually unlocked their gate first and lit the last flame to win immunity. Then, shockingly, Jeff tells Ta Keo that they were going to tribal council immediately. I was like whut?!?

Tribal Council
The only way to explain what went on was that they went right after weird/crazy. Abi-Maria received four votes, but I guess Vytas's sexual yoga creepiness stood out most to everyone and he got the other five votes. He was the first to be sent home. So much for that second chance...
So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):
Ta Keo: Woo, Spencer, Kelly W, Terry, Abi-Maria (4), Shirin, Jeff, Peih-Gee, and Kelley*
Bayon: Jeremy, Kass, Keith, Tasha, Joe, Ciera, Andrew, Stephen, Kimmi, and Monica
Bayon: Jeremy, Kass, Keith, Tasha, Joe, Ciera, Andrew, Stephen, Kimmi, and Monica
*Has an Immunity Idol
Voted out (in order): Vytas
