Survivor: Worlds Apart Week 7 Recap

This season of Survivor is called Worlds Apart and brings us three tribes based on occupations: white collar "executives", blue collar working folks, and no collar carefree individuals.

Last week Jenn blew everyone away by playing her hidden immunity idol (negating seven votes against her) and sending much liked Kelly home. Back at camp they were all just trying to recover from having their plans shattered. Rodney (of course) went right at Will scheming again about getting rid of his own teammate Mike. He thinks he has support from Tyler and Carolyn.

Reward Challenge

Here is where the reward challenges become tactical in nature. This week's reward was a zip lining adventure followed by a pizza picnic. To win they had to untie three bags tied to a balance beam without falling off. The first three to get all the bags to the end would face off against each other to solve the puzzle carried inside the bags.

The first three to get all of them was Joe, Mike, and Hali. They all struggled to piece the anchor shaped puzzle together, but in the end it was Joe who got it right first. Now this is where the tactical moves come in because he got to choose three to go with him. He chose Tyler, Will, and Carolyn (ones he knew voted for Jenn last week). Jeff says five is such a better number and let Joe choose one more. For some reason he went with Shirin, while Rodney basically acted like a big baby.

The leftover survivors were mad because they knew the clue to an idol would be involved in the reward and they wanted Joe to have no chance at it. They were right. As they were enjoying their picnic, Joe noticed something in Carolyn's soda bottle which she apparently didn't see herself. So Joe tries to be smooth by asking for her leftover soda. He tries to chug it down and hide the clue in his mouth quickly but couldn't get it down so he awkwardly pulled it out of his mouth. Tyler sees the whole thing go down, but keep quiet.

The next morning back at camp, Joe wakes up and Tyler is basically waiting on him. They take a walk to talk things over, but Mike sees the action while pretending to be asleep. Now he follows them and watches them read the clue. #SpyVsSpy

Mike then "nonchalantly" joins the guys at the beach and Tyler knows he's been made. Once he is alone with Mike he tells him what the clue said. Now Mike gets super paranoid because no one saw where Joe went off to and it's basically a mad dash to find him. #Looking4Joe

Mike finds Joe and follows him in a way that would make Tony proud (#SpyShack), but never sees him actually find the idol. He gets back to camp and starts playing the game that he did see him find it and congratulates him. He then heads back to the woods, climbing trees, eating ants, digging under logs until he reaches into a hole in a tree and flipping pulls out the idol! #HappyDance

Individual Immunity Challenge

This challenge was a puzzle one. They had to slide a puzzle piece through three slide mazes. Once they got it through, it became the last piece in a slide maze which they had to solve. Shirin bragged that finally they got to something that was a strength of hers. Yeah whatever. Poor Dan thought he had solved the thing twice, and as action was stopped was told he was wrong. To the dismay of the others, the first one to complete the final puzzle was Joe. He gets individual immunity again!

Tribal Council

Now the power alliance still cannot focus on getting rid of Joe and are forced to go with Plan B (again). They settle on going after Hali instead of Shirin and breaking up the tightly knit no collar clan. The girls form a group and decide to go after Dan who was being himself the entire episode, including a "heartfelt" chat with Shirin. Problem is the girls didn't have the numbers so they approached Tyler to vote with them. Question is, would he flip from his alliance? In short, no.

Dan got four votes, but Hali received the other six and my heartthrob from this season gets sent home for a shot and some ice cream. #FlippersNeverWin

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):

Blue: Dan (4), Mike*, Rodney (2), Sierra (2)
White: Tyler, Shirin, Carolyn*(2)
Red: Will (4), Jenn (9), Joe (3)

*Has an Immunity Idol

Voted out and on the jury (in order): Hali

Voted out pre-jury (in order): So, Vince, Nina, Lindsey, Max, Joaquin, Kelly
