Last week Joaquin got blindsided (or rather Rodney did) and was sent home. Mike had some explaining to do and went right into it about how he thought Joaquin was pulling Rodney's strings instead of the other way around and was a threat to the blue team. Rodney kind of agreed but didn't buy it for one second. He now has it out for the rest of the blue collars.
So when both tribes ventured out the next morning, Jeff was nowhere to be found. Instead they all found a basket full of food with a note which everyone guessed meant one thing: the merge!

The Merge (Merica)
At this point, this is who has survived from the original tribes: Dan, Sierra, Rodney, Mike and Kelly from the blue tribe; Will, Hali, Jenn, and Joe from the red team; and Shirin, Carolyn and Tyler from the white team. They decided to name their team "Merica"
And then the scheming really began! A lot of the talk centered around "tight couples" like Jenn/Hali and Mike/Kelly. I'm sure this was all still fresh in their minds from the Rodney/Joaquin bromance and subsequent vote. Carolyn and Tyler are also a tight pair, but they both realized what the feeling around the camp was over that and distanced themselves from each other. Brilliant.
Rodney, of course, was playing every angle he could. He immediately went to align himself with Will and the white collars to oust the other red collars. He then told them he would stick with them at the end to vote out the rest of the blue collars. He is working it hard. They all agreed that Joe would be their first target.
The red collars also see that the blue collars have the numbers and try to alliance themselves with the white collars to pick them off one by one. They see Kelly as the glue that holds them together (plus that she is tight with Mike).
But first, in order for any of that to go down, they all have to see how the Immunity Challenge plays out.

Individual Immunity Challenge
This challenge was a simple one: hold onto the pole as long as you can without dropping to the bottom. The first ones to drop out were probably the ones you would have guessed. Dan, Will, Tyler, Sierra and Shirin didn't last very long and went out in that order. They were then followed by Kelly, Mike, Rodney, and Hali. After 55 minutes (!) it began to rain hard. Jenn finally went out leaving Carolyn and Joe. To my surprise Carolyn went down next, leaving Joe as the winner.
Yeah, that messed up a lot of scheming...

Tribal Council
At this point it sent Rodney and his alliance scrambling for a new plan. They settled on breaking up the Jenn/Hali combo. They would all vote Jenn, but told Will they were all voting Hali. That way if Hali got a vote they know they can trust him. Not a bad strategy.
So the big question was which side would the white collars swing over to? Were they with the blue collars to vote out Jenn, or with the red team to vote out Kelly?
The votes were written down, but wait just a second! Jenn decides to use her hidden immunity idol, which turned out to be a fantastic move because she received 7 votes! And now none of them counted. Hali received one vote (I'm guessing the Will thing), and all of the red team apparently voted for Kelly, which gave her a total of three and a trip home. Well played.

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):
Blue: Dan, Mike, Rodney (2), Sierra (2)
White: Tyler, Shirin, Carolyn*(2)
Red: Hali (1), Will (4), Jenn (9), Joe (3)

Red: Hali (1), Will (4), Jenn (9), Joe (3)
*Has an Immunity Idol
Voted out (in order): So, Vince, Nina, Lindsey, Max, Joaquin, Kelly
