Psych Season 1 Episode 6 Recap (Weekend Warriors)

Thanks to a childhood spent with a family of cops, Shawn Spencer possesses an incredible photographic memory and notices seemingly insignificant details. These traits allow him to spend his jobless days providing the police with mystery solving tips - but his knowledge soon makes him a suspect. In order to clear his name, the unlikely sleuth declares he has clairvoyant abilities and launches his own investigative agency, Psych.

Episode 6: Weekend Warriors

Flashback Scene: Shawn's dad teaches him and Gus about winning and losing while shooting off model rockets.

The Case: A soldier dies during a civil war reenactment in which Lassie is involved.

Shawn thinks the shooting was not accidental, as was explained in a police briefing, but actually murder.

Shawn first investigates one of the re-enactors who was a dentist and old school friend of theirs. He admitted that yeah he knew his wife had an affair with the dead guy, but it has been over for quite sometime. This doesn't stop Lassie from coming in and arresting him.

Shawn enlists as "Captain Crunch" and gets Gus to join him. They go to another re-enactors business to get his uniform where they see his impressive civil war collection.

When walking and flirting with the camp nurse, Shawn falls down to the location where the dead body was found. He looks up and realizes that the victim was actually shot from a tree above. When checking out the tree, he finds a rifle notch that lines up exactly to where the nurse would be.

After finding a secret tunnel from one end of the battleground to the other, they find the empty uniform of the civil war collector. They run back to his shop where he is robbing himself for the insurance money, using the sound of the reenactment to cover the break in. It also turns out the nurse was in on it too (as his insurance agent) and he was planning on killing her so he wouldn't have to split the money. Unfortunately the guy on the ground saw him up in the tree first, so that's why he got shot.

Pineapple Sighting: None found.
