Friday and the Random 10 (Stuck Whistle Edition)

You know, some days on the Walt Disney Railroad just never seem to amaze me. This year has seen some crazy things happen that has shut down our operation: a turtle laying her eggs in the gravel by Fantasyland Station, mystery lumberjacks cutting down trees on the backstretch, and well, a balloon. Yeah, a balloon. This week we got to add another thing to the list. The whistle on one of out trains got stuck open, and it was like loud. L-O-U-D. Like OMG I can't even hear myself think loud. Needless to say, it got replaced. I tell ya, it's always something...

Now on to our regularly scheduled randomness!

The last countdown once again did not add anyone to Exile Island and left it vacant. No worries mon. Someday. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Who will be the loudest this week?

1) Thomas Dolby/Big Bang Backwards (The Gate to the Mind's Eye) - With a name like Dolby he has to be into electronic music right?

2) Pink Floyd/Yet Another Movie (A Momentary Lapse of Reason) - I am still on the fence about this band. Have I not listened to the right stuff?

3) Apollo 440/Bulletproof Blues (Dude Descending a Staircase) - Well so far this has been a very electronic, moody countdown. Still love these guys.

4) Def Leppard/It Could Be You (On Through the Night) - Wow, some very early stuff from them before they were even known in the USA. They sound like some random 80's metal band at this point.

5) Heart/Unchained Melody (live) (The Essential Heart) - Okay, we have different definitions for the word "essential". Meh. Buh-bye.

6) Prince/Nothing Compares 2 U (live) (Ultimate Disk 1) - Two live songs in a row? You already know my disdain for live versions. Adios.

7) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Apache Rose Peacock (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) - Now this is much better. And back to being funky.

8) Soundtrack/Joseph All the Time (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) - Hey, I love this musical so back off.

9) Jimmy Buffett/I Have Found Me a Home (Boats Beaches Bars and Ballads) - Well these last two have been real mood killers I suppose.

10) Evanescence/Disappear (Greatest Hits 2) - Definitely the most rocking song so far. I thought this band would be huge. Guess they have peaked.

The STCS for this week goes to Billy Joel/Vienna (The Stranger). You can never go wrong with Mr. William Joel. Spinal Tap is indifferent. I had to "Cybermen" two songs for being annoying live versions No one got sent to Exile Island again, so the Tarkus may be a thing of the past.

As always stay cool/dry and comfy wherever you are. Go Braves and Roll Tide!

Play us out anyway!
