I thought I would give everyone a run down of the 10 most popular posts from this past month (in case you are new to my blog, or just plain missed a post).
Me and my journey through life, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all wacky, funny, deep, depressing and interesting points in between. My interests are varied from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, the disappointing side of mediocre.

The Field Where I Died
When I started writing the posts for my favorite funny episodes of TV shows (The Work Outing, Are We Not Men?), I knew that what I wanted to do for the serious ones. Each one was getting its own post (The Girl in the Fireplace, The Inner Light), and I knew which one would be last. If you have paid attention, I have been dropping hints leading up to the finale.
This one episode just hits me from so many directions. The Civil War. Reincarnation. Past lives. Soul-mates. How people are always connected through life and death and rebirth. Migrating souls.
My personal beliefs in many of these things might not be justified, and even if not true, I recognize them as being beautiful ideas. And in a cold, cruel, sometimes heartless world, we always need beautiful ideas.
Also, I do not think I given this episode the write up it deserves. I have written and re-written this several times, but I still do not feel I have conveyed the emotions and feelings it evokes from me.
Opening scene is Mulder standing in a field, while Robert Browning's Paracelsus is recited. He is looking at two Civil War era photographs of a soldier and a woman...

Weekend Update
Audio/Video/Telly
Community - Christmas episode? Yep. The air date for these episodes were pushed back several months. Cool how at the end they went with that whole alternate timeline thing again. Annie is still so yummy.
How I Met Your Mother - Finally a new one from them. Lilly and Marshall slightly bore me. They've beaten that whole Lilly is the horny band geek from American Pie for way too long. We never got to see the "redonkulous" body of the wedding planner. Maybe soon!
Movies - So if you know anything about me, you know I have a lot of free time right now so I find myself watching old movies for inspiration or whenever one pops in my head. One of these was The Mist. Not usually my type of movie but I saw an article where it was called the predecessor to The Walking Dead. I'm like whut? So I watch it and one of the main character is Andrea. And oh look there's Dale. Holy crap that's Carol (did she always have short dikey hair?)! Funny that all of them were in the movie and ended up in a series together years later. And I never connected Andrea with Marita Covarrubias from the X-Files! Wow, the things you learn...
Music - I added some music from Peter Schilling and The Cars, and a ton of 80's singles from some compilation albums. Yeah, I was basically trying to re-live my high school days.
Books - Finished Little Brother by Cory Doctorow in one day. Looking forward to the next book Homeland, if it will ever show up in the mail.
Sports
Braves - The Braves split a two games series with the Royals in which their 10 game winning streak was snapped. Then they went to Pittsburgh and apparently didn't like the cooler weather there. They lost all three games. Their record is now 13-5, still good for first place in the NL East.
P.S. And do not forget to recommend this blog continues.

Friday and the Random 10
I must say, this is my favorite post to write every week. I don't write it ahead of time either or fudge the results. I truly have no idea what will play when I start this. So here I am setting my media player on random and waiting to see what shows up. And away we go!
1) Korn/For No One - Well that was a heavy way to start the day. Not really my style. Just trying them out because of a friend.
2) The Moody Blues/Words You Say - Don't know this song. Very over the top with the orchestra.
3) The Buggles/Living in the Plastic Age - Video winner because a video actually exists of this song:

4) Steve Howe/Cruise Control - From Homebrew 3, which is the third (duh) collection of his at home demos that evolved into other songs or parts of other songs. I was really surprised at how much of Yes' music came from him. This piece eventually became New Languages on The Ladder album.
5) U2/The Fly - I do not really know much, or really cared about their music. This sounds cool though.
6) Yes/Harold Land - Now here's some classic stuff that I've already shared here.
7) Syd Barrett/Waving My Arms in the Air - I tried some of his stuff because of the whole Pink Floyd thing and from an episode of The X Files. IMHO, his music is complete crap and gets the Picard Award (brand new!)
8) ELO/Starlight - I love bands that have a certain sound and no matter what they play you know it's them.
9) Korn/Ball Tongue - I don't even know how to comment on this one. I'm just not a fan of the dark angry music. They might get the (so far unused) Cybermen Award before too long.
10) Phil Collins/In The Air Tonight - You know, the song where everyone (including Mike Tyson) knows the drum parts.
Well there we go for another week. I keep waiting for something new to show up, and for that matter, we haven't seen RW in quite awhile either! No album cover winner this week? Odd. The STCS for this week is Chicago/What Else Can I Say. Good, older stuff from them before the 80's happened.
Play us out Phil! Everyone drum along!
