Coyopa (Orange)
Josh immediately heads for Baylor and explains that he was the one who voted for her, but only as a tactic to throw off the other guys. He seems to be using the fact that he is gay to play the middle of both sides of the men and women in his tribe.
Hunahpu (Blue)
Jon and Drew began this whole "look at me" muscle head routine by going through all these unnecessary exercises. All the women just rolled their eyes. It impressed no one and maybe even hurt their cred a little.
Then someone realized that their flint for making fire could not be found. Jon quickly stopped showing off and owned up to the fact that he was the last one with it. He said you have to go all "J'tia" when you make a mistake and admit it overwhelmingly. Add that to his calisthenics routine and Jon came off looking like a dumb ass.
Reward Challenge
So the tribes come back together and this is the first time that Blue sees that Orange voted Nadiya out. Natalie loses her shit and can't stop crying. She goes on and on about never being away from her sister in over 20 years. It was pathetic. I was yelling to do a quick vote and get rid of her now.
*Prediction - Natalie quits.
Rocker wins the rock/paper/scissors and gets matched up against his woman Julie. John has an obvious physical advantage, but because of the nature of the challenge he struggles. They had to balance a ball on a big paddle while working their way through obstacles. John was actually too tall to duck under some of the poles and kept dropping his ball. Julie went with the "tortoise versus hare" method and slowly made it to the other side first. She completed the final part by rolling three balls into holes on a board before Rocker even made it through the first part.
John gets sent to Exile Island. Julie has to pick someone from her tribe to go with him and chooses Jeremy.
Then things get interesting. The blue team then tries to barter part of their reward (beans) for another flint. Probst has none of it. He tells them it doesn't benefit him at all and they should have asked before the challenge when they were at their weakest. He offers another flint for their entire reward instead. They agree and give up the beans and all the fishing equipment.
Probst got mad y'all.
Exile Island
While on exile, John and Jeremy walk into camp and have two jars to choose from like the week before. Rocker gets the blank piece of paper, but Jeremy gets the clues to an idol, which he shares aloud.
The guys then strike an agreement to protect the other's partner within their own tribes. Sounded legit.
On a side interview, Jeremy admits that he is quite aware of who John Rocker is. I'm sure that will all come to a head soon enough.
Immunity Challenge
The battle for immunity this week was sumo style wrestling on a floating platform. Push your challenger off to win.
The results went like this:
Jaclyn beat Kelley (orange 1, blue 0)
Drew beat Alex in a battle of brothers (orange 1, blue 1)
Wes beat Jeremy. Let me say that again. Little Wes beat big ole Jeremy (orange 2, blue 1)
Natalie beat Val (orange 2, blue 2)
Jon beat John. This one was brutal from the first collision which cracked Rocker's nose and left him bleeding. (orange 2, blue 3)
Baylor beat her mom Missy. The first contact here split Baylor's lip open and they were both visibly upset. (orange 3, blue 3)
Reed beat his life mate Josh (orange 3, blue 4)
Dale beat Keith in a battle of geriatrics. (orange 4, blue 4)
The tie breaker was a rematch of Jaclyn and Kelley which was won this time by Kelley. Blue team wins, 5-4 and gets immunity. Orange goes to council.
Tribal Council
As soon as Orange got back to camp, Val started campaigning and putting up a big front because she feared being voted out. I think in doing all this she actually made herself a target. She told Rocker that she already found two idols and was going to protect Jaclyn. He believed her.
John, remembering what he heard from Jeremy while on exile (he read it out loud remember?), began looking for an idol around the well. He found it.
So now Rocker conspires to vote Baylor out by voting for Val, thinking she has an idol to protect herself. He thought his vote would be cancelled and only the votes for Baylor would count. Well that all backfires when during the vote it's obvious Val does NOT have an idol. He now worries about the alliance he made with Jeremy.
The voting actually ended in a tie, 4 votes apiece for Baylor and Val. I had forgotten what happens in a tie (I'm still a newbie). Well they re-vote, but Val and Baylor don't get a vote this round. It was a landslide this time and Val gets voted out, 5 to 1.
So that leaves us with:
Team Coyopa (Orange - 7 players): Alec, Baylor, Dale, Jaclyn, John Rocker, Josh, and Wes.
Team Hunahpu (Blue - 9 players): Drew, Jeremy, Jon Misch, Julie, Keith, Kelley, Missy, Natalie, and Reed.
Team Hunahpu (Blue - 9 players): Drew, Jeremy, Jon Misch, Julie, Keith, Kelley, Missy, Natalie, and Reed.
Voted out (in order): Nadiya, Val
