Psych Season 1 Episode 13 Recap (Game, Set … Muuurder)

Thanks to a childhood spent with a family of cops, Shawn Spencer possesses an incredible photographic memory and notices seemingly insignificant details. These traits allow him to spend his jobless days providing the police with mystery solving tips - but his knowledge soon makes him a suspect. In order to clear his name, the unlikely sleuth declares he has clairvoyant abilities and launches his own investigative agency, Psych.

Episode 13: Game, Set … Muuurder

Flashback Scene: Young Shawn and Gus get in a fight when Shawn cheats at Battleship.

The Case:  Before the Psych Agency can begin to investigate the disappearance of an up and coming tennis star, Shawn must first retrieve Gus from a corporate retreat, and they soon realize things are not always as they appear.

While investigating the missing girl's room, Shawn notices a bunch of expensive jewelry, except for one that's cheaper and more worn than the rest. Realizing it's not from her controlling father, he deduces that it must be from a secret boyfriend.

Gus Nickname: On the tennis court trying to get info from another player, Shawn introduces him as a famous tennis player Vernus Lambert Watkins.

While retracing the steps of the missing girl, Shawn sees a billboard for a manicure and nail designs that he saw in one of the girl's pictures. They go in and sneak a look at the client list on the computer, which gives an alternate address. Arriving at the scene, they find the missing tennis player being carried out in an ambulance after being attacked. Lassie believes it was the stalker but Shawn thinks otherwise.

Comparing the crime scene photos, Shawn feels something is off. He realizes that the shadows in the pics do not line up and seem to be taken at a later time of the day. The only one that could have done that was the actual crime scene photographer himself. Shawn does his psychic thang and the guy confesses.
