Now, first of all, let me say that I am in no way an expert in any kind of way about this show. Actually I am only a few seasons in, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. This blog post is my way of helping me keep all things sorted out. So take it easy on me if I make mistakes.

THE MERGE
Everyone knew it was coming and it's finally here: the merge! Surviving from the Healers tribe are Cole, Mike, Jessica, Joe and Desi. They have the most. Next is Heroes with Ben, Chrissy, Ashley and JP. Last is the Hustlers who only have Ryan, Lauren and Devon left. There is no telling whether any "old" alliances are still in place.
The new tribe is called Solewa, and they feasted out on Outback.

A few notes:
Back at camp Cole was going on about looking for advantages at a new merged camp. He was totally oblivious that there was one in the bundle of nails he was currently using. Very observant.
Chrissy finally got to meet Joe. She hates him. And then the talk centered on idols and if he had possibly found more than one since he had found one before the dropping of the buffs and then changed campsites. He let it just hang out there...
Ryan and Devon chatted about trying to form up with the former Heroes tribe since Healers have everyone outnumbered. They zeroed in one either Cole or Joe.

Individual Immunity Challenge
This challenge was a new one. They had to spin a ball inside the middle of a large ring while standing on a balance beam that narrowed towards the end. Drop your ball or fall off and you're out.
Ryan fell literally two seconds in, and became the butt of Probst's jokes the rest of the challenge. Moving forward one step took out Dr Mike, and the next step Jessica went down. The third step knocked out Ben, JP, Devon, Lauren and Joe.
At the 10 minute mark it was jokingly determined by Jessica (after being asked by Jeff) that the remaining people had lasted 900 times as long as Ryan had. However this also took out Cole and Chrissy.
At the 30 minutes mark Ashley wavered and fell, leaving Desi (yes Desi!) winning individual immunity.

Tribal Council
Joe was obviously a target now, as was Cole, after hearing his name mentioned went on what I call an "apology tour". Ben didn't buy it and neither did anyone else. The Healers see Chrissy as the biggest threat and may go after her with their alliance.
The biggest thing on everyone's mind was if Joe has an idol and would he strategically use it for Cole and blow the voting up. Plan B was to split the votes. Plan C was to choose someone else entirely. Jessica was chosen as a fall back position.
Joe did himself in this time though and I think he got thoroughly out played. He showed everyone at tribal that he did have an idol and was going to use it. That contingency plan they had in place totally outdid Joe's show. That one alliance stuck to its plan and hit Chrissy with five votes. The other seven votes did not go to Joe, or to Cole as Joe had thought, but to Jessica!
