Survivor Season 35, Week 2 Recap

This season of Survivor is called Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers. Eighteen players (17 remaining) were separated into three tribes according their work and life experience categories.

Now, first of all, let me say that I am in no way an expert in any kind of way about this show. Actually I am only a few seasons in, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. This blog post is my way of helping me keep all things sorted out. So take it easy on me if I make mistakes.

So back at camp after Tribal, Chrissy says yeah she didn't use the idol, but she didn't feel like she was on the bottom anymore because of some of the others' behavior (ahem, Alan). She also says she can use it as a fake idol later on. Nice. She went to everyone in camp and seemed to focus on Ben being the most dependable. #NotAPowerCouple Everyone else basically admitted that Alan screwed the pooch.

So Cole and Jessica are out spear-fishing on a raft (and flirting like crazy), while the rest of the tribe is back at camp, but splitting up to do chores. Joe sees this as a chance to do some idol hunting real quick and comes upon a clue drawn on a tree. He thinks it's a picture of a raft so he heads out to check with Cole to see if he has found anything. Cole is skeptical and wants to see the clue. Joe shows him and Cole realizes it's a pic of the well and not the raft. They head there and Joe finds it, but Cole knows. This could get interesting.

Wow, Simone can talk. Didn't hear a thing from her last episode. She seems to be the odd one out though, but is working to fit in. Aly, who apparently has a hidden hairdresser somewhere on the island, tried to buddy up with her though.

Patrick is proving to be the assclown of the group though and it's already wearing thin on everyone. #WildBanshee

Immunity Challenge

This week's challenge starts with three teammates swimming to a floating ring and then diving down to untie puzzle pieces and then maneuver them through an underwater cage. 

Devon, Patrick and Ryan for Yawa (Hustlers) was the first to get this done and turned the pieces over to Simone and Aly to solve the sign post puzzle.

Ben, Ashley and JP for Levu (Heroes) are next and give their pieces to Alan and Chrissy to solve.

Cole, Jessica and Roark for Soko (Healers) were the last to get their pieces to the solvers, BUT Mike and Desi solved the puzzle first to win immunity.

Simone/Aly looked partially lost and were passed by Alan/Chrissy. Heroes finished second, sending Hustlers to Tribal Council.

Tribal Council

While talking with the girls, Simone quickly tried to deflect all attention to Patrick, the unpredictable one. The guys zeroed in on Simone as being the weakest. The rest of the time the tribe focused on the plus/minuses for each of these two.

In the end though, they decided to keep Patrick for the challenges, and voted Simone out 5 votes to 1.

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):

Levu: Ben, Chrissy, Ashley (1), Alan, and JP. 

Soko: Cole, Mike, Jessica, Joe*, Roark, and Desi.

Yawa: Ali, Ryan, Lauren, Patrick (1), and Devon.

Voted out (in order): Katrina, Simone
