Friday and the Random 10 (Good Friday Edition)

Happy Good Friday everyone! Or is it just Good Friday to you all? I don't know the best way to say it and surely don't want Catholics mad at me. Either way, you know what day it is.

Quick Von, distract them with music. Hey look down there:

A return to normalcy maybe? RW finally got set free and was replaced by The Buggles, figuratively and literally (they replaced him and Jon Anderson in YES when they left in 1980). And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Play On!

1) Styx/Miss America (The Grand Illusion) - One of JY's best rockers. Second week in a row for that awesome album too.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Yes/Hour of Need (Fly From Here) - Now this is one of those things I just do not understand. This is the "full length" version of this song that was only available on the Japanese issue of the album. Umm, why was this even edited at all? Shouldn't you get the full version when you buy any album? Good song though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Lynyrd Skynyrd/That Smell (Street Survivors) - Man the first three bands have been awesome today. Classic song from unfortunately the last album many of them would play on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Led Zeppelin/Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin III) - Wow, apparently Warner Chappell (whoever they are) doesn't want anyone in the United States to hear a LZ song on YouTube. Be that way then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) God is an Astronaut/Route 666 (The End of the Beginning) - The good thing about this new format that I am using is that you get to listen to exactly what I hear, instead of my lame descriptions. Case in point, this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) The Rolling Stones/Under My Thumb (40 Classic Songs) - And the classic bands keep rolling on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Ozzy Osbourne/Mama, I'm Coming Home (The Ozzman Cometh) - Man, "SME" doesn't like Americans either. Must be friends with Warner Chappell up there at #4.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) U2/One Tree Hill (The Joshua Tree) - And this would be a song from the album that I haven't heard. I dunno, I just never gave them much of my time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Billy Joel/New York State of Mind (Turnstiles) - Another great song by a classic artist. I keep waiting for the bubble to pop.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) Saga/The Vendetta (Heads or Tails) - Epic. Okay maybe only to Canadians. Okay maybe a small handful of Canadians. I'm trying to stick with a theme here!

The STCS for this week goes to Cyndi Lauper/Hot Gets a Little Cold (Playlist). I must admit I have never heard this song before. Maybe it was one of those new songs added to a greatest hits album? Or maybe I didn't really follow her career at all cuz you know, i'm a dude. As far as Exile Island goes, The Buggles get set free and no one gets added. It will be a clean slate for April Fools Day next week!

Stay warm/dry/comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out acoustically Cyndi!
