Friday and the Random 10 (Super Bowl Warm-Up Edition)

Another week, another new format I am going to try. I will get it right eventually. In other news, the Super Bowl is Sunday between two #SEC quarterbacks. That's all you need to know. Prediction: $cam 20, Omaha 13. And then pitchers and catchers report... On with the music.

The last countdown cleared everyone out of Exile Island except for Guns N' Roses who got Tarkus'd and sent right back. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Play On!

1) Kansas/Questions of My Childhood (Leftoverture) - Man I love me some Kansas, especially on songs where keyboards are all over the place like this one. One of my favorite songs off this albums too, even though it wasn't released as a single.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Shaw-Blades/Dance With Me (Influence) - This whole album is great (and should be owned) and is filled by the songs that influenced Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades growing up. Great stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Jon Anderson/I Love You (Searching for the Songs) - This is one of those songs from a CD JonJon put out of rare demos that were going to be in a boxed set. I am totally surprised to find a video for this. Props dude.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Rick Wakeman/Bedtime Stories (Cost of Living) - Back from exile and ready to go! Mercifully, this video was copyrighted and not available in this country. For once that actually worked in our favor!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) The Black Eyed Peas/Fly Away (Elephunk) - No video for this one either, but I'm still cool right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Rick Wakeman/Steamhole Dance (Private Collection) - Yeah, unfortunately there is a video for this one. No idea and I was better off not knowing. Banned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Rush/La Villa Strangiato (Hemispheres) - Now we're talking. This came in at #3 on my Top 10 list of favorite instrumentals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) Enigma/Traces (Light and Weight (The Screen Behind the Mirror) - Another artist that does a lot of instrumentals. Theirs is more of the meditative kind though. And awesome.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Chicago/Mother (Chicago III) - Now this is the old school stuff from them that's the best. This album felt a little more disorganized to me than their previous legendary album, but this is one of the better songs from it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) Styx/Paradise (Return to Paradise) - This is one of the studio songs included on the live album from the reunion tour. I have previously covered this song and album here.

The STCS for this week goes to REO Speedwagon/In My Dreams (The Hits). Yes, they got really wimpy in the 80's too. They somewhat survived. As far as Exile Island, Guns N' Roses gets set free but, and let me know if you have heard this one before, Rick Wakeman gets sent right back. There are no words.

Stay warm/dry/comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out REO:
