Friday and the Random 10 (Survival Camping Edition)

I am having to prep this post a little ahead of time because I am taking some time off work to do some survival camping with a friend this weekend. And by "survival" I mean no wireless and no internet. There may be electricity, running water, and bathrooms however (when you're a man everywhere is a bathroom! Grunt grunt) so it's not totally roughing it. I just need to get away from tourists and people for awhile, get my line wet and do some fishing.

Next up, on Naked and Afraid...

Exile Island gets to let nature reclaim the area as there are no inhabitants this week. I would go camping right there if I could. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Play On!

1) Rick Wakeman/Free Song (Lisztomania) - Well I can see where this week is headed. Thankfully Regretfully, there was no YouTube video for this one, and I am certainly not going to make one for it. It does fit into my camping theme though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Soundtrack/Main Title & Rebel Blockade Runner (Star Wars Episode IV) - Wow, I had forgotten I downloaded this for my daughter. Quite an unexpected surprise when that fanfare starts up. Maybe Brandon will actually pay attention to my blog now...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Bach/Goldberg Variations (The Very Best of Bach) - Three songs, three composers. I am losing fans by the dozens at this point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Vanessa Carlton/This Time (Heroes and Thieves) - Finally something good. I didn't like this album from her as much as the others though. This is great just playing the piano like on this song. She doesn't need to be the next Britney or Christina. At least that's my professional advice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) Patrick Moraz/Here Comes Christmas Again (Future Memories I and II) - Former keyboard player for YES at one point (like who hasn't been?), but for only one kickass album, Relayer. This isn't really a Christmas song per se. I would call it a "wintry instrumental". No YouTube love either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Chicago/Lovin' Chains (Chicago XXX) - Wow, no video for this one either. Every one I found has the audio removed. You know how they do that thang. Also, as we once learned before, be very careful when you Google "Chicago XXX" looking for a pic of the album cover.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Rick Wakeman/Policeman's Ball (Crimes of Passion) - I told you it was coming! No video, no cares. On to Exile Island, and also:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) Chicago/Critic's Choice (Chicago VI) - Some early (and good) stuff from them that unfortunately gets them banned. It seems they and good ole RW bond a lot on that beach...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Camel/Spirit of the Water (Moonmadness) - Finally some interesting stuff. I have always liked this band without ever knowing much about them. Nice, slow moody jazz.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) The Beatles/Your Mother Should Know (Magical Mystery Tour) - Well, at least we end on a "classic". And, a mother always knows.

********************************************************************************

Not even going to mess around with the randomness at this point since it blew chunks this week. I have an appropriate song already picked out. The STCS for this week goes to Styx/Man in the Wilderness (The Grand Illusion). Yeah. As far as Exile Island goes, it's time for old friends and constant island mates Rick Wakeman and Chicago to meet up again. It has to be some kind of record.

Stay cool/dry/comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out Tommy!
