Survivor: Worlds Apart Week 12 Recap

This season of Survivor is called Worlds Apart and brings us three tribes based on occupations: white collar "executives", blue collar working folks, and no collar carefree individuals.

Last week Mike was forced to use his Immunity Idol which left Tyler as the only other one receiving votes and getting a trip to join the jury. Back at camp it was basically anti-Mike (still), but Carolyn was starting to open up to alternate plans. She doesn't trust Dan, and even told Mike what his advantage was that he won in the auction.

Reward Challenge

This challenge was for a helicopter trip around the island, then a surf and turf lunch. Before the challenge even started Rodney started whining like a little bitch. #JustShutUpAndWinOne

Dan, Sierra and Rodney were on one team, with Mike, Carolyn and Will on the other. Each team made it through the obstacle course and untied the knots that dropped a drawbridge. They both untied the knots of a tied up hatchet which was then used to cut a rope that dropped letter puzzle pieces. And then no one could figure out what it spelled.

For over an hour.

Jeff started just rambling on about "Survivor-speak" and commercials and forgetting grammar rules to help them along. Finally Mike, Mama C and Will figured it out. #ARewardWithAllTheFixin's

And the focus went right to Rodney. And then to teammate Carolyn who basically said "nope, not giving it up. I"m playing the game too". #SuckItRodney

At the surf and turf it was basically Mike and Mama C talking strategy. Will listened and said he was still undecided about things. Fair enough. Back at camp all the others could do was grumble and bitch to the point where Sierra was tired of hearing about it. Dan went off and came back with some weird melons that they cut up and ate. Rodney was rejuvenated and said it was now on! He's coming after you Mike! #FullForce

Individual Immunity Challenge

The challenge this week was to throw a grappling hook and rope to snag three bags with balls in it. Once you had all three you could advance to the ball maze where you had to get just one ball in the hole in the middle, maneuvering the table by pulling on two ropes.

Rodney and Carolyn never made it off the beach (however Rodney is now an expert at throwing a grappling hook directly into the ground). Mike, Dan, Sierra and Will were the only ones to make it to the maze, in that order. Will was never a threat and Dan just tried the brute force method which kept throwing the ball off the maze. #ISuckAtLife

Mike made it to the center of the maze first but Sierra was right behind him. Mike got his ball to drop in first and won immunity. The others were so happy for him. #Sarcasm

Tribal Council

Here we go again. Mike ruined everyone's plans to vote him out by winning immunity and forced the others to cannibalize themselves. The alliance quickly agreed on Carolyn because she was so good at challenges, but would tell everyone else they were gunning for Dan instead. Mike even saw through this and interrupted Carolyn and Sierra in the middle of a discussion to point it out to them. They thought he was just way too paranoid, even though he was exactly right!

At tribal, the talk was about trust and advantages and playing them too early/too late. This prompted Dan to go ahead and use his advantage and write down another vote. Then, to everyone's amazement, Carolyn busted out her Hidden Immunity Idol that she's basically had since Day 1. Carolyn got five of the seven votes, but none of them counted. The other two votes went to Dan, who used his advantage to no avail and got sent home/added to the jury.

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):

Blue: Mike (4), Rodney (2), Sierra (2)
White: Carolyn (8)
Red: Will (4)

*No one no longer has an Immunity Idol
