Friday and the Random 10 (Day at the Beach Edition)

Well I finally listened to Jimmy Buffet and spent the day at the beach and I have learned one thing: even though it's overcast and dark and a bit rainy, if you lay there face down long enough, you can still get sunburned. Unbelievable.

Anyway, back to the music. Looking back at last week it looks like Enigma and The Beatles are banned this time around. As usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ on the top.

Here we go!

1) Yes/Gates of Delirium - Wow, talk about a starting off awesomely! This is based on War and Peace and I originally covered it here.

2) Steve Howe/Valley of the Rock - One of his one billion demos.

3) Daft Punk/Battle - From the Tron Legacy soundtrack.

4) Paul McCartney/Band on the Run - Classic.

5) The Beatles/When I'm 64 Esquire/Knock Twice for Heaven - This is Yes bass player Chris Squire's wife's band. Good voice but she mostly over-sings everything. Oh, and:

6) Def Leppard/Wasted - Some live version from the Pyromania deluxe edition.

7) Yes/High - Bonus track from Tormato and if wasn't good enough to make that crappy album then it must surely suck. Also, banned.

8) Camel/Changing Places - Haven't heard from them in awhile. Your smooth sounds are always welcome here.

9) GTR/Young Blood - Demo from the second GTR album that never happened.

10) Pharaoh's Dreams Explained/Soundtrack (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) - Yeah, I have some class. Don't be shocked.

Well that does it for another week. I barely got this one in before the day was over. The Beatles tried to poke through but got Tarkus'd. They will be back next week, but Yes won't as they get banned again. I really have started trimming some of the fat from my collection (no more live versions!) The STCS for this week is Tommy Shaw/Fading Away. That's from his first solo album Girls with Guns and I'm going to let it be the album cover winner just because of his hair:

As always, stay cool central Florida, and Roll Tide!

Play us out Billy Shears:
