This Day in Music History: Def Leppard/High 'n' Dry (07/11)

High 'n' Dry is the second studio album by the English rock band Def Leppard, released on this day in 1981. It reached #38 on the Pop Album chart and sold over two million copies.

The singles: "High 'n' Dry (Saturday Night)", ranked #33 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs. "Let It Go" reached #34 on the Mainstream Rock charts and at #38 on the Billboard 200. The instrumental "Switch 625" is a showstopper during concerts.

"Bringin' On the Heartbreak" is a ballad that reached #61 and is still a concert staple. In 2002, it was covered by Mariah Carey for her album Charmbracelet.
