Episode 15: Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast
Flashback Scene: Halloween, 1987, and while on the way back to the police station to have their candy x-rayed, they end up witnessing a suicide jumper at a mental institution.
The Case: Shawn and Gus step into a real life urban legend, as they investigate a death suspiciously like the tale of “Scary Sherry,” who met her untimely end at the now haunted Wispy Sunny Pines mental institution.
When a co-ed at a local college dies in what looks like a copycat situation at the same mental hospital, Jules goes undercover and asks for the guys' help. They show up at the sorority, where lights flicker and furniture gets tossed about all ghostlike, which has the guys running screaming from the house.
Gus Nickname: Not quite a nickname, but it's the first reference to Gus being Bud from the Cosby Show.

When another co-ed Bianca gets fried in the tub with a toaster (hey, I get the title now), one girl is questioned and admits that the first death was a hazing event gone wrong.
Pineapple Sighting: When Shawn goes to interview the victim's best friend, Gus asks what he could possible ask her that hasn't been asked already. He hits her with "want to split a pineapple?'
While eating dinner with his dad, it is revealed that Scary Sherry never even jumped, and that she was pulled back inside by Henry. Shawn and Gus realized they had actually started the urban legend. He told them sometimes the truth is right in front of your face.
When Jules is set up to be the next victim, they all rush to the mental institution to stop her from being killed by the original suspect, who was trying to punish the sorority for the death of her best friend.
Side Story: While Jules has been away, Lassie gets a new partner, who has finally passed the detective exam after 13 tries. She is also deaf in one ear, has bad vision, and a pacemaker. Afterwards, Lassie asks the chief if he was being punished for some reason. When it was explained that everyone thought they would get along, Lassie was unsure of everyone else's perception of him as being hard and reckless.
