Survivor Season 37: David Vs. Goliath Week 7 Recap

For Survivor's 37th season, 20 brand-new castaways (13 remaining) will be sorted into two groups: The Davids, who have scratched and clawed their way through life to prove themselves, overcome adversity, and earned everything they've got. And then there's the Goliaths, who come from a place of privilege and have capitalized on their advantage to crush the competition, be it in business, education, or the professional wrestling ring. 

But social politics can change drastically when you're stranded on an island in the game of Survivor; as Jeff says, every Goliath has an Achilles heel, and every David has a secret weapon.

Now, first of all, let me say that I am in no way an expert in any kind of way about this show. Actually I am only a few seasons in, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. This blog post is my way of helping me keep all things sorted out. So take it easy on me if I make mistakes.

The Merge!

The new tribe name is Kalokalo. The stats on the merge are that there are seven Goliaths and six Davids. Now that they are all feasting together some of the facts start coming out. First is that no one was surprised Natalie got voted out. Then came the shocking info that Alec had flipped and voted out Natalia, which makes every Goliath instantly question whether he will flip again.

More talking led to Elizabeth being the first David target. Christian and Nick reconnected (Mason Dixon...sigh) and the info that Dan has an idol was shared. Christian also met up with Alec to form and alliance on the downlow. Thank God they didn't name it. 

Dan, who was so happy to see Kara, told her that he had found a second idol (she knew about the first). Once again, vital info is just blurted out. However, Elizabeth noticed that they were whispering for hours after they went to bed so she is concerned about them being a power couple.

Mike talked with Allison and Alec about a cross alliance with some Davids to have a majority after Goliath breaks up. They immediately agreed on Nick and Gabby/Christian. When talking, they agreed it would look good if a few Davids were voted out first. Elizabeth was brought up first again.

However she was making plans of her own. She wants to stay David strong, and targets Alec as someone who would potentially flip. She offers Dan up because of his relationship with Kara.

Individual Immunity Challenge

Everyone had to swing a pendulum around a frame that had a statue sitting on it. Lose momentum, drop your idol or fall off your perch and you're out.

Mike was the first to go followed by Christian, Karl, and Gabby. After a uninterrrupted period Kara loses momentum and drops out followed by Nick.

At the 15 minutes mark they had to switch hands which took out Davie, Angelina and Alec. John fell off his perch and was out. Dan dropped his statue and was out.

Allison and Elizabeth were left as the final two. Elizabeth lost momentum, which left Allison as the winner of immunity.

Tribal Council

Elizabeth is the obvious first to go, but Angelina throws out that she's not much of a threat so it might be a good time to go after someone else. She chooses Christian. The rest of the group had side discussions and decided to stay with Elizabeth instead of poking chaos with a stick. Angelina seemed very upset that they came to her with a different plan.

Angelina tells Elizabeth who reveals it at tribal as her trying to pocket her jury vote. The whole thing blew up with side whispering and Gabby crying "yes we're strategizing! You think we're gonna sit here and get voted out one by one?!?" You go girl.

It was impassioned but not enough. Angelina got one vote, but Elizabeth got the other twelve to be voted out

So that leaves us with (total votes received in parentheses):
