Friday and the Random 10 (Fill in the Blank Edition)

Sometimes I have a preconceived idea for the Random 10, and other times I hope the music itself will reveal a theme. Today I'm just blah so I will let the music speak to you and you can leave comments on what it should be named. Yay for reader participation! #FutureInternetSensation #ShareThe Love

Now onto some music:

********************************************************************************
Exile Island gets to enjoy the company of Journey this week. The funny thing is that the songs from last week were pre and post Steve Perry, so you can't blame him for any of it. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Play On!

1) Soundtrack/Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) - I have discussed before my love for this movie. Still not ashamed. This song was actually sung by Dianne Steinberg and Stargard, whoever they are. The movie clip was blocked unfortunately, but the soundtrack version was available.

2) Anathema/A Natural Disaster (A Natural Disaster) - Moody and very cool. Still learning about them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) Lynyrd Skynyrd/You Got That Right (Street Survivors) - Three days after this album was released, most of the members were either seriously injured or killed in that tragic plane crash. #LongLiveSouthernRock
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Porcupine Tree/Collapse the Light Into Earth/In Absentia) - They opened for Yes at one point. Only reason I got this CD and played it a lot at the time. Good stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) Steve Howe/Turbulence (Homebrew 3) - This is one of his CD's he did off his home demos that eventually became parts of other songs for Yes, Asia, GTR, or in this case his solo works.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Anthrax/Startin' Up a Posse (Attack of the Killer B's) - Okay I have to blame my brother Scott for this one. This very comedic and NSFW song was about censorship and the labeling of albums/CD's back in the 80's. Sorry about the video, but it was the only one I could find. Oh, and the song is hilarious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Daft Punk/Rock'n Roll (Homework) - I feel like that German guy on the SNL skit Sprockets. Your story music has become tiresome. Now's the time on Sprockets when we dance...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8) Ashlee Simpson/Pieces of Me (Autobiography) - Move along. Nothing to see here. And yes I just watched that whole video.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9) Chicago/To Be Free (Chicago II) - This is the Chicago album you should own. This was part of a much longer piece right before the finale ("More Than Ever") that is also included here. You also get a bonus "Fancy Colours".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10) Ivana Spagna/Call Me (The Best 80's Songs) - This is one of those I am not even going to bother "welcoming to the party" as she will never show up again. One hit wonder from the 80's who even I don't remember. And holy crap it has a video?!?

********************************************************************************

The STCS for this week goes to Xandria/Forever Yours (Kill the Sun). I think this would be the band of Spinal Tap's children. Not bad. As far as Exile Island goes, Journey gets set free leaving the luxurious resort completely vacant.

********************************************************************************

Stay cool/dry/comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out Xandria!
