Psych Season 1 Episode 7 Recap (Who Ya Gonna Call?)

Thanks to a childhood spent with a family of cops, Shawn Spencer possesses an incredible photographic memory and notices seemingly insignificant details. These traits allow him to spend his jobless days providing the police with mystery solving tips - but his knowledge soon makes him a suspect. In order to clear his name, the unlikely sleuth declares he has clairvoyant abilities and launches his own investigative agency, Psych.

Episode 7: Who Ya Gonna Call?

Flashback Scene: Shawn's dad makes him confront a kid who has been chasing him all week.

The Case: A doctor that Gus's company provides for is murdered. Plus, a guy comes in claiming he is being haunted by a ghost that trying to kill him.

While visiting the guy's apartment, Shawn notices red hair strands all over his art studio and proposes that it's an ex-girlfriend that is terrorizing him. However, after visiting her they rule her out because she was happily engaged. They spend the night and awaken to a fire, but all the doors are still locked. Returning to the apartment later, they find the apartment tossed a bit and follow a trail of paint out the back and up a ladder to the attic. There they find women's clothes and realize that the victim was his own attacker because of a multiple personality disorder.

Pineapple Sighting:

Best guess was the bottle in the attic

They also realize that he has a third, more violent personality. When the female personality visited a doctor about gender reassignment, the third personality killed that doctor, making both cases actually related.

Gus nickname: Though not a "real" nickname, Shawn refers to Gus as "Francois" when they are interviewing the ex-girlfriend and pretending to be opening a French gallery.

Funniest moment: Shawn and Gus pull up to Lassie and Jules as they exit a building:

Shawn: "Good morning detectives! Collecting donations for the policeman's ball?"
Lassie: "We don't have balls"

Shawn: "Honestly I have no response to that."
