So this is just a little snippet of some of the things that happen at Disney sometimes.
My train pulled into Main Street Station and waiting in the wheelchair area was a black family with a child from Give Kids the World. I loaded them into the box and made sure his chair was all tucked in safe with wheels locked and all. He was facing upward with a few tubes going into him, but was all smiles.
Right after I got them settled, an elderly couple had come up the ramp and since I already had everything opened up I just let him drive himself right in. From the hat he had on I could tell he was a veteran. His wife sat next to him.
Nothing out of the ordinary. Both groups wanted a round trip.
When we got back to Main Street is where I noticed something interesting happen. After dropping the ramp, the gentleman rolled out, but his wife had moved over to the little boy and was talking to him and patting him sweetly on the head. She then reached her arm out to pat the mom on her back, but then they ended up hugging.
An elderly white woman was hugging and giving words of support to an elderly black mom, who she didn't even know twenty minutes previously and would probably never see again.
Faith in humanity restored.
