Friday and the Random 10 (Feeling That Way Edition)

Well we have finally reached that part of the year in Florida where there's a chance of rain or thunderstorms everyday (typically around 1:15 like clockwork). I know most of the country hasn't even hit spring yet, but down here we have been in almost summer conditions (i.e. humid and hot) for several weeks now. Our winter just never happened and it sucks. Game of Thrones was wrong. Winter isn't coming. Boo.

Before we get started though, how about that Random Ten last week? You can take a quick review by following this link, or trying to figure out the artists from the cool picture below:

As always the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top next to the Home tab.

Exile Island is finally free of inhabitants so anyone is fair game this week. Being on Exile Island means you broke the rules by showing up more than once the prior week and cannot appear in the countdown below.

********************************************************************************

1) Journey/Feeling That Way (Infinity) -
The first album they did with new lead singer Steve Perry. Great album and great cover.

2) Billy Joel/The Night is Still Young (Greatest Hits Vol. 2) - This is one of those new songs that acts put on their greatest hits albums so people will buy them. In this case it's a great song though.

3) Billy Joel/Tell Her About It (Greatest Hits Vol. 2)- Umm, uh oh. Two songs in a row from the same album always makes me worry that media player is messing up again. It has happened before. Oh, and banned for next week.

4) Jon Anderson/The Book Opens (Toltec) - This is one of JonJon's solo albums that I actually liked. It was a sort of mystical album, with Longwalker (a native American) speaking over certain parts of music some of the oral traditions and philosophies of his people.

5) Kansas/We're Not Alone Anymore (Power) - Second week in a row for a song from this album to show up. Great song and a personal favorite album of mine from the 80's.

6) Evanescence/Secret Door (Greatest Hits 2) - I still need to give them more of a listen. This song had me at the cello in the background though. It had me at cello. Get it? Cello?

7) Rick Wakeman/Funerailles (Lisztomania) - You know what? I don't even know anymore when it comes to RW. I did not even know this was a movie, let alone that it had Roger Daltry from The Who in it. That thing on the album cover is kind of umm... never mind.

8) Def Leppard/Heaven Is (Adrenalize) - Yes I know this was the follow up to Hysteria and had seven (7!) singles released (including this one), but it just wasn't the same. Or maybe it was more of the same and just overkill? Hey, the album debuted at #1 so they must have done something right.

9) Esquire/To The Rescue (Esquire) - This is a little known band (outside of Yes fans thats is) that did two albums in the late 80's/early 90's. The singer was, at the time, wife of Yes bassist Chris Squire. There are some interesting songs here, but mainly she just way over-sings at times.

10) Prince/Sign 'O' the Times (The Very Best of Prince) - Man, since I have added him to my inventory he has shown up almost every week. Y'all might start to think I'm cool or something.

The STCS for this week is Bon Jovi/Bad Medicine (Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection). Every time I hear Bon Jovi it takes me back to my high school days and hearing "You Give Love a Bad Name" over and over and over again on the radio. My girlfriend at the time went nuts every time it came on. Ah, memories...

Well this week did not turn out as bad I had thought after the Billy Joel thing. He gets sent to Exile Island next week though so be prepared to release the Tarkus! Other than that? Meh. I need new ideas...

********************************************************************************

As always stay warm/cool and comfy wherever you are. Go Braves and Roll Tide!

I'm gonna let Journey play us out because this was before they went down the "Love Song Spiral of Doom" ©™

Opened my eyes to a new kind of way...
