Friday and the Random 10 (R2-D2 and C-3PO Edition)

Finally a day off where I can take my time and do this thing right. I am sorry last week was such a rush job, but you know how that goes with the holidays and all. The occupancy of Exile Island has changed though: RW is a free man (for now) and had his place taken by another piano man. Interesting...

Now, back to the matters at hand. I have added some "interesting" stuff to my inventory, all the while still trying to delete some of the crap to make a better countdown. It's a slow process. I am always welcome to suggestions for new music though.

No idea what is going on here? Check out the rules and whatnot up there ↑ at the top of the blog.

Let's get down to business!

1) Steve Howe/Running in the Human Race - One his Homebrew demos that ended up on the ABWH album as part of "Quartet".

2) AC/DC/That's They Way I Wanna Rock 'n Roll - This is one of those songs I crank with the windows down on my way to work sometimes.

3) Night Ranger/When You Close Your Eyes - Do you still think about me? I bet you do.

4) R2-D2 and C-3PO/Bells, Bells, Bells - No really. From probably the most epic Christmas album of all time. This is actually a real thing!

5) Kansas/Tomb 19 - They kind of disappeared a little bit from the 80's onward, but Power is one fantastic album (even if it is covered with a few love songs).

6) Def Leppard/Little Bit of Love - Again? I mean it's a good remake and all, but I think it showed up very recently. I'm sure there's other songs on that album right?

7) Chicago/Only You - Sigh. Chicago XVII was huge for sure, but they never recovered from it. Repeat after me: every song does not need to be a love song! Wash, rinse, repeat...

8) Jimmy Buffett/Money Back Guaranteed - Yep, my love is worth it too Jimmy.

9) Clifford T Ward/Gaye - ??? Must be from one of those 70's compilation CD's. This song makes my ovaries hurt it's so wimpy. I couldn't help thinking about the IT Crowd either.

10) Chicago/Cry for the Lost - Ugh. You know if a record company thinks your album sucks so much that they don't want to release it during the 90's (the 90's!), then maybe it's a boatload of crap. You can't keep re-creating XVII. No words. Back to exile.

Wow, looking back on this one I had a lot to say and much of it seemed...bitter? Overly critical? Well that is why you come here right? For the hard hitting, honest opinions of a middle aged dude who thinks there hasn't been much good music since 1987. Glory days...

Anyway, the STCS for this week is Madonna/Hanky Panky. I was confused over this for a second then realized it was back when she did the Dick Tracy movie. I actually worked at Disney during that time so I remember it all.

As always stay warm and comfy wherever you are, and Roll Tide!

Play us out boys!
