Well it's been a whole week since Halloween so you know what that means: Disney has gone into full Christmas mode. Thanksgiving? Never heard of it. The only turkeys around here are some of the songs that show up on the countdown. Like for instance, DDY went and got himself banned last week and Chicago got Tarkus'd three different times. This week? Hard to say, but we will see how it goes. Oh, and pass the mashed potatoes...
1) Return to Forever/No Mystery - More of that 70's weird funky jazz that sounds like it should be on Sesame Street.
2) Foreigner/Out of the Blue - I had to check to even see what album this came from (Inside Information). Yeah, they were already in full blown love song pussy mode by then. Ugh!
3) Camel/Dunkirk - More jazz but better sounding this time.
4) Nektar/The Drinking Man's Wine - Another one of those weird prog bands I'm giving a listen to. This almost sounds like early Rush and King Crimson mashed together.
5) Red Hot Chili Peppers/Under the Bridge - Ah, much better.
6) Steve Howe/Beginnings (Themes) - This is such a weird sounding demo song. It doesn't even sound like it's even guitars, just some weird keyboard stuff going on.
7) Bon Jovi/You Give Love a Bad Name - Finally someone shows up with a set of balls, even if he did look like a woman back then.
8) Magma/C'est La Vie Qui Les A Menes L - I totally have no freaking idea. It doesn't even sound French either. Even Picard can't make any sense of it.
9) Heart/Alone - Yeah it's an 80's love song, but sung by women. That's how it should be done. Whatever, I always loved this song.
10) Electric Light Orchestra/Little Town Flirt - ELO trying to sound like a 50's doo-wap group. Why? Almost sounds like the Beach Boys.
Color me underwhelmed by this week's randomness. Other than #'s 5, 7, and 9, I wouldn't have minded if the rest got banned for next week. The STCS this time around is The Beatles/Get Back. I can live with that.
Until next time, stay cool central Florida, and Roll Tide!
Play us out Ann and Nancy!
