Update

So I don't normally use my blog for this but I thought I would give everyone (that cares) an update on what is going on after the move. As of right now, we are still working on the paperwork for the house. We have an offer in on a 3 bedroom/2 bath house out in the Ladonia area of Phenix City (basically out in the county). It also has a den with a fireplace.

This is what we're hoping for
Yes it does include that huge storage barn that has two floors and is already wired for power.

So, what are we doing while we wait? Well, we planned ahead in case there was a delay. We have all our stuff in storage, while we stay at an extended stay hotel for the month. It has a fridge and cooking area so we are trying to be very minimal right now, especially with the puppy in here as well. We are basically using most of our camping equipment to survive. And doing laundry at my mom's house.

The wifi here sucks and it's hard for me to get online for long, and even my cell has 2 bars most of the time. I can get texts, but everything else is a chore. I still feel like I'm on vacation, but with no home to go back to. My daily routine is to take the dog out every couple of hours or so. In the meantime, I get to stare at this:

Caspian (aka Rufus the Doofus)
Yeah, lucky me.

Job-wise, most of you know that Sarah had already accepted a teaching job before we even left. School started for her this past week and she is very overwhelmed just trying to catch up since she was so behind being out of state. As for me, I had an interview at the Kia plant near here (about a 45 minute drive, same as Disney...no big deal). I got that job and will be starting next week at $13.50/hr. Yeah, I made $11/hr when I left the Mouse...after basically 30 years. I'm getting paid through a staffing agency, and when I get fully hired by Kia that jumps up to $25/hr. Yeah, you read that right.

I had to go pick up my work shirts and special shoes, of all places, from LaGrange, GA. I graduated from LaGrange College (memba that?), so of course I had to drive by and check out the campus. I haven't been up there since maybe 2002? It certainly has changed a lot. It also brought back many not so nice memories, but that's another story.

But right now I'm in limbo. My job starts Tuesday so we're going to have to adapt to that somehow. We hope to get the house and be cleared out of here and the storage space by the end of the month. If not, we don't know. The money is getting tight, but at least we got most of our deposit back from the house in Saint Cloud already. So, for now, all we can do is wait.
