Me and my journey through life, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and all wacky, funny, deep, depressing and interesting points in between. My interests are varied from one end of the spectrum to another. Basically, the disappointing side of mediocre.
This Day in Music History: Van Halen/OU812 (05/24)
OU812 is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1988, and the second to feature vocalist Sammy Hagar. It sold over four million copies (quadruple platinum) and reached #1 on the Billboard album charts where it stayed for four weeks.
The album's front cover is an homage to the classic cover of With The Beatles. The cover is also similar to that of Red by King Crimson. Album artwork for the back cover is Hugo Rheinhold's "Affe mit Schädel" (Ape with Skull).
The Beatles/With the Beatles, and King Crimson/Red
The album spawned several singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: "Black and Blue" (#34), "Finish What Ya Started" (#13), "When It's Love" (#5), and "Feels So Good" (#35).
