Psych Season 2 Episode 1 Recap (American Duos)

Thanks to a childhood spent with a family of cops, Shawn Spencer possesses an incredible photographic memory and notices seemingly insignificant details. These traits allow him to spend his jobless days providing the police with mystery solving tips - but his knowledge soon makes him a suspect. In order to clear his name, the unlikely sleuth declares he has clairvoyant abilities and launches his own investigative agency, Psych.

Episode 15: American Duos

Flashback Scene:

The Case:  Shawn and Gus go undercover as talent show contestants to investigate a number of failed attempts to kill one of the judges, played by the awesome Tim Curry.

Gus Nickname: The reality show is American Duos and Shawn Spenstar sings with his partner Gus TT Showbiz.

After nine murder attempts in nine cities Gus points out that it has to be a staff member or fan. After two more failed attempts everyone is hauled down to the station to be questioned by Lassie. Afterwards, when accompanying the judge back to his hotel, Shawn notices his sandwich is different than those from room service and suspects poison. He is right and it points to one of the other judges, the whacked out Emelina.

Pineapple Sighting: When Shawn and Gus bring Nigel St. Nigel to his dad's place as a safe house:

When Emelina is attacked and ends up in the hospital with what they think is another overdose, Shawn shows up with a present:

When sneaking into Emelina's hotel to look for clues, they find a piece of a necklace which they had noticed a contestant wearing. When researching him, they found him on a website of another one of the judges Zapato as his biggest fan. They figured out both had been working together because Zapato was supposed to be the star of the show before Nigel signed on.
