Episode 10: From the Earth to the Starbucks
Flashback Scene: Shawn wins the jackpot as a store's one millionth customer.
The Case: When a drunken and depressed Lassiter confesses to Shawn that he has doubts not only about the death of an astronomer, officially listed as being of natural causes, but also doubts about his ability to ever solve a case again, Shawn sets out to secretly prove the detective right in order to boost his morale.
Pineapple Sighting: None confirmed
Shawn first interviews the victims wife, and then infiltrates the planetarium as an employee. He knows Gus has been sneaking over there once a week, and quickly learns it was because of a girl.
Epic Gus Line: You heard about Pluto? That's messed up right?
Shawn hilariously works the planetarium show as the narrator, Aurora Borealis, and claims that there are 400 stars in our galaxy (maybe more). He points out the constellations of "Hammer of Jeff" and "Monkey with Rash", as a meteor comet goes by, which was named after the sink cleaner. He is watched and corrected by janitor, who he follows out of the show suspiciously. Sneaking around, he also finds the other astronomer still working on their project.
Gus gets the girls digits, but it's also the same number as was pulled from the dead guy's phone records. Turns out he called her about making a huge discovery, which made her a suspect. They ruled her out when they went to the other astronomer's house and found a plant growing in the garden that can be used as poison. After realizing that the astronomer brings coffee in for everyone every morning, they were able to prove he poisoned his partner slowly over time.
