Survivor: Cambodia/Second Chance Week 7 Recap

This season of Survivor is called Second Chance and it's basically that. Twenty players (13 remaining) from the previous thirty seasons of Survivor were voted on and allowed a second chance at winning.

Now, first of all, let me say that I am in no way an expert in any kind of way about this show. Actually I am only three seasons in and I know only nine of the current participants. This blog post is my way of helping me keep all things sorted out. So take it easy on me if I make mistakes.

Andrew was all butthurt here because things didn't go how he planned them at tribal. You know, sometimes if you're in a position of power you shouldn't force everyone to try and see the leverage you have. I still think he miscalculated and should stop trying to go all "leader" on everybody.

No drama here after no tribal. Until they get mail that says to pack up and head to the beach for visitors. No one expects the merge just yet. However...

#TheMerge

Yep, and merge with 13 people! That's the most ever (and will lead to the largest tribal ever). So here everyone basically said hello again and got reaquainted a bit, but under the surface everyone as ready to start scheming and planning alliances.

Andrew went right to Jeremy and started trying to figure out who the seven that they need for a majority are. Kass and Ciera began that process on the other side. The two swing votes appeared to be Joe and Spencer.

These two even got together to discuss their upcoming roles, with Spencer drawing diagrams in the sand. #JoeLanguage

Kass stirred things up a bit when she tried to feel out Tasha, but she didn't trust Kass for anything and just threw some junk out there about the old Bayon tribe. Kass repeated it and the arguments ensued. Ciera even got in on the action a bit.

Individual Immunity Challenge

The first individual challenge for this season is a previous challenge from Beauty vs Brains vs Brawn. Each person would balance a ball on a plate supported by a stick while standing on a beam. Each round would be a move to a smaller beam, and holding the support stick further away from the plate.

Round 1: Stephen was the first one to let his ball drop, followed by Keith, Ciera, and Kimmi.

Round 2: Abi dropped hers right before Kass, Wiggles, and KW went out in that order.

Round 3: Andrew finally dropped his, followed by Tasha (who won this challenge in her season), and then Jeremy.

That left Spencer and Joe, the two swing votes. Spencer got real wobbly and recovered a few times but not in the end. His ball dropped and Joe won immunity.

Tribal Council

It was clear the way the camp was split up what each side was thinking. Kass and Ciera made themselves targets by running their mouths and stirring things up. The Andrew/Jeremy alliance decided on Kass, but worried that she might have an idol. Based on that they decided to split the vote 5:4 with her and Ciera.

Now on the Kass/Ciera side they could see the other group scheming and guessed correctly about a split vote. However, if she could get one of those votes to flip she could knock Tasha out and that would depend on Joe/Spencer.

It was a close vote amongst all three at the beginning (with a random vote thrown in for Andrew), but Tasha only received two votes total as the others kept getting more. Ciera ended up with four votes, but the other six went to Kass, who got sent home.

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):

Spencer (8), Abi-Maria (6), Ciera (4), Tasha (2), Wiggles (2), Andrew (1), Joe, Keith, Stephen, Kimmi, Jeremy*, Kelley W*

*Has an Immunity Idol

Voted out (in order): Vytas, Shirin, Peih-Gee, Jeff, Monica, Terry**, Woo, Kass

** Left voluntarily
