Friday and the Random 10 (Florida Sucks Edition)

Well last week was the Halloween edition with a song for every day in October. Now it is time to turn the calendar over to November and start worrying about the holidays to come. Yeah, it's all out there in front of us. The Magic Kingdom is all decked out for Christmas already with decorations and the big tree going up. I walked through Town Square today with "Winter Wonderland" playing at a nice chilly 88 degrees. Florida sucks y'all.

Music, please take me away from this madness...

Due to the nature of the last countdown, many inhabitants got added to Exile Island. Oh well, you got to play with the hand you are dealt. And as usual, the rules and whatnot are up there ↑ at the top near the home tab.

Here we go!

1) Styx/Kiss Your Ass Goodbye (Cyclorama) - We have had this song before but I don't care. I love this tune.

2) Phil Collins/The Roof is Leaking (Face Value) - Man, 80's Phil Collins/Genesis was everywhere. That was some great music. Oh, and I wonder if this album cover will have his face on it...

3) America/Daisy Jane (Definitive America) - There was a period in the 70's when men were really wimpy. It's some good sentimental stuff though.

4) Yes/To Be Alive (Hep Yadda) (The Ladder) - This was a really great album. Not the best song from it, but still worth owning.

5) Esquire/Blossomtime (Esquire) - This was the band that had the late (sniff) Chris Squire's ex-wife as the lead over singer. Good voice, but damn real that thing in sometimes.

6) Anathema/Inner Silence (Alternative 4) - We have an IALA moment:

7) Tarkus'd

Journey tried to bring that Love Song Spiral of Doom crap here

7) Jon Anderson/Midnight Cello (Angels Embrace) - Sometimes he does some decent stuff when he is not just re-hashing old material

8) Tarkus'd

Dammit Journey. No means no!

8) Trans-Siberian Orchestra/This Is Who You Are (Beethoven's Last Night) - From their non-Christmas album. Yeah it's as good as you think.

9) Styx/Winner Take All (The Serpent is Rising) - Oh man...this album. I still can't figure out what they were trying to do. However, this is a good song. Oh, and banned.

10) Asia/An Extraordinary Life (Phoenix) - This is when the original band got back together. Great song and album, unfortunately I will always associate it with my divorce because that's the time period it came out.

The STCS for this week goes to Genesis/Invisible Touch (Invisible Touch). I already mentioned Phil and Genesis. Good stuff. And now for the bad news: Styx gets added to Exile Island and has to sit with Journey, who got themselves the rest of the month there. We won't see them at all in November now. Everyone else was able to escape though.

As always stay cool/dry and comfy wherever you are. Roll Tide! Just keep winning!

Some Serpent to play us out!

Winner take all
That's the way I play it
Playing my cards as the world goes by
Winner take all
That's the way that I get high
