Survivor: Worlds Apart Week 10 Recap

This season of Survivor is called Worlds Apart and brings us three tribes based on occupations: white collar "executives", blue collar working folks, and no collar carefree individuals.

Last week Jenn got voted out, but most of the drama was on the verbal attack on Shirin by Will. Dan met with her after tribal and told her he felt bad for the things that made her cry. However, alone on camera, he said she is just a drama queen and likes playing the victim and that everything she has said earlier is now coming back at her. #Karma

Reward Challenge

This challenge was for a sailing trip where the winners would get burgers and pie. They were split up into two teams: Blue (Mike, Shirin, Rodney, Sierra) and Red (Tyler, Dan, Carolyn, Will). The object was to make it from one end of a sand pit to the other using only four barrels, planks and a rope. If anything other than the barrels touched the sand then that team had to return to the previous section (the pit was divided into thirds).

It was neck and nice for quite awhile, but the blue team had a setback when the planks touched the ground. As a desperate last measure they all attempted to roll on top of the barrels to the end, but Mike and Shirin fell quickly. By that time the read team had gotten close enough to jump onto the winning platform.

Rodney whined like a little bitch again about not being part of a reward yet. Dan said he did feel bad for him, but when Probst said it was an option to swap places with him the look in his eyes said eff that! He will just have to go back to his #RodneyTime.

There was no real strategy discussed by the winners. It was mainly how much they hated Mike. Tyler had to lie to Dan and cover up the fact that they were indeed scheming to out Mike last week. He played it off as something they were considering down the line. #TheresNoMikeInTeam

Individual Immunity Challenge

The challenge this week was to hold onto a handle that had a rope wound around it holding up 25% of the person's body weight. As it unwound the rope would drop off and a weight would fall, tipping an overhead bucket and dousing them with water.

Twist Alert: The last male AND female contestants would both win immunity!

Women: Sierra was the first one out. Shirin needed it badly but could not outlast Carolyn, who won immunity.

Men: Tyler was actually the first one out, followed by Will and Dan. Rodney was holding on for dear life with Dan whispering him sweet nothings of encouragement, but it wasn't even close in the end. Mike wins immunity again (and pisses everyone off... again).

Tribal Council

Sierra and Rodney had a discussion about the likeliest next set of votes and decided on Shirin, Mike, then Tyler. Shirin knew she was the #EasyVote and started campaigning to stay in the game as being the biggest non-threat and not even being an option to get votes to win the whole thing. She played up the whole Tyler thing to everyone saying that he was going to win the game if they didn't do something about it. A lot of people seemed to agree with that assessment (me too).

While this was going on, Tyler actually took Dan's bag and read his advantage. He shared with Carolyn that Dan gets an extra vote. I'm pretty sure that makes Dan a target now.

But the big intrigue came at Tribal Council with Mike agreeing with Shirin that Tyler was the biggest threat. He also claimed that the "solid six" wasn't as solid as everyone thinks it is. To prove that point he said he would play his hidden immunity idol on Shirin and then vote for one of the blue team. That would force them to vote for Tyler, or attack themselves. When the votes were cast, Mike slid the idol back in his pocket to see how things had played out.

They called his bluff basically, but it did have some interesting results. Shirin was still the easy choice, got four votes and was sent home. Tyler got two votes (the first he has received). However the big shocker was that Dan received two votes! Two people flipped!

So that leaves us with (total tribal votes received in parentheses):

Blue: Dan (7), Mike*, Rodney (2), Sierra (2)
White: Tyler (2), Carolyn*(3)
Red: Will (4)

*Has an Immunity Idol

Voted out and on the jury (in order): Hali, Joe, Jenn, Shirin

Voted out pre-jury (in order): So, Vince, Nina, Lindsey, Max, Joaquin, Kelly
